Re: Ascii Moon Buggy

Wow! Very cool demos, I like all four! And this clever trick is my favorite: :o

Code: Select all

sprintf((void *) 0xbb80, "load:%d ....

Re: Gotek USB floppy emulator

Yes, with buttons you change the selection and the image number is displayed on the 7-segment LCD. This is the concept used in all such emulators and the image files have to be named in a special way (i.e. DSK0001.HFE etc.). The problem is actually when you have lot of images in the USB-stick. That'...

Re: Textmode Sideways Scroller

Yes, it's confusing :). Try this code: int touch; char *keyPtr; void main(void) { keyPtr=(char*)520; //mem location for keyboard scanning while(1) { touch = 0x7f & *keyPtr; if(touch!=56) // 56 seems to be no key press and this works { printf("touch = %d \n",touch); //pressing 'A' key gives me a valu...

Re: OricExos - making the impossible

Chema, I totally agree with you about the need to preserve Oric in their original shape and look! I like Oric as is and definitely will never drill a hole in the case ... I swear! :) Firstly when I bought these 4 Oric from eBay they were "not working for spare parts" full with dust, hairs and grease...

Well, I think only one broken track is not so bad ;).
Here is the Master Oric - ready for action:

Re: Oric Kong converted in C, need beta test (and graphist !)

Cool!
Please, check line #98 in main.c

Code: Select all

char iy=0,cb=0,y_poutre=0, x_poutre,an_poutre, xr,what_below=0;what_above=0;
There is semicolon before what_above - no problem for the compiler but I think it's not what you want to be...

OricExos - making the impossible

I have the great honor to announce officially with this post the birth of OricExos . The beginning was set exactly before one year with Dbug's idea to somehow "merge" two Oric's RGB video outputs. The first attempts for synchronization were not good although optimistic. Then ULA was reverse engineer...

Re: Gotek USB floppy emulator

The Gotek from your eBay link is OK to be updated with FlashFloppy or HxC firmware. Mine is exactly the same and I will follow step-by-step this nice FlashFloppy HowTo . So can you write files to the floppy emulator and then convert them back to Oric /dsk images ? With this question you hit the only...

Re: Gotek USB floppy emulator

I'm using Gotek emulator since long time and it works perfect. I've tested it with Microdisc controllers (the original one, Silicebit's and jorodr's) and Cumana - no problems at all. The native firmware is very limited - it's should support MsDos IMG and Amiga ADF file formats but to make it work is...

Re: Merging video output?

Thanks, mikeb, your math is correct :).
I only mean the simplest case - without any additional resistors, simply short connected R, G and B outputs on SK2.
BTW, can you do the R-values math for 4 Oric's? :roll:

Re: Merging video output?

There is one small detail related to the direct video mixing - RGB outputs are not TTL levels but the signal goes through resistors 200 Ohms. The result is absolutely similar to the internal audio channel mixing discussed in Oric's 8912 volume scale.
But this actually will lead to nice effects :).

Re: VIA "networking"

The only important thing about that, is that we want the hardware VSYNC to work Good point! Count it as DONE! Else, possible patches are: - set the NMI vector to CLOAD routine - we will have manual control too for every Slave. - change JMP to 'CLOAD' instead of print 'Ready' ... some many things to...

Re: VIA "networking"

This is one possible solution which I can do in "no-time" :). D0,D1,D2 are lines from Master printer port and together with STB (not shown on sketch) will route Master's Tape-Out to particular Slave's Tape-In. Bonus is that we can send data to one, two or to all three Slaves :). Additionally tape co...

Re: VIA "networking"

I have exactly the same in my mind! I planed to connect the 4 Orics printer ports with simple ribbon cable, of course STB and ACK wires should be crossed. Interesting is how the master will talk to any particular slave #1,#2 or #3. IMO this can be done fully in software using kind of packet protocol...
