Re: INSERT MASTER DISC IN DRIVE A

The patch is extensively described in Sedoric à Nu page 475-477. Patched version is available on Oric.org: https://www.oric.org/index.php?page=software&fille=detail&num_log=741 BTW I found back an "optimized" version I made long ago. I'm copying it here for you to check if it sounds OK to you... IIR...

Re: INSERT MASTER DISC IN DRIVE A

I can't recall much about Sedoric 4 as Michel did most of the coding work, I think it uses one more bank so less room on disk I suppose. About Tap2dsk, can't tell you much... Maybe a minimal Sedoric designed to be better than slave disks that do require master disks, but not to have the full OS? (ju...

Re: INSERT MASTER DISC IN DRIVE A

Just use Sedoric 3 or 4  Well, on Sedoric 3, André included two "patches", one of them (can't recall which one) stops this request. Look for file like PATCH001 and PATCH002, I think it's the 1st one you have to launch. Don't ask me why André didn't include those patches by default in Sedori...

Re: new with oric atmos

Yes it sounds like the end of the WAV file is not played. The screen is loaded completely because the WAV carries on (there's a program after), but the end of the program is not played. Get TAP2WAV from here, and use -a and -11 switches, it should fix the problem: https://sourceforge.net/projects/e...

Re: Experimental very fast tape loading

Thanks Chema.

Anyone willing to test, here's still the same HIRES picture.
Do HIRES first !

One has the loader at standard speed, the other at F16 speed. I'm interested to know if both work for all!
Thanks :)

Re: Oric-1 16k memory management

Just noticed the test is still present in the 1.1 ROM, too, writing in #500 and #4500. That means a ROM 1.1 could work on a 16K Oric-1; retro-compatibility? Maybe that's also the reason why some think there could have been 16K Atmos... BTW, it's fun to see Fabrice Broche didn't seem to fully underst...

Re: Oric Explorer v2.0 is up for adoption!!!

Oric Explorer is a wonderful tool, I use it quite often.
Glad Scott allows it to get a new life, respect! Thanks for all this Laurent.

Re: new with oric atmos

the maximum is that the screen is seen and there is still. Yes it sounds like the end of the WAV file is not played. If you want me to test anything, just send me the wav files and I will give them a try in my Atmos.
Thanks! Sent ;)
Didn't receive anything!

Re: Experimental very fast tape loading

@NekoNoNiaow: I'll send you the source code. Actually I'm quietly writing the docs while waiting for some feebcak from testers. I tested the thing, working on 10 machines and not working on one (that never ever loaded anything at high speed). I have to test again in a few weeks, since I would like t...

Re: Upgrade Time: Encounter

Interesting tricks for basic programmers!
I know it can be longer than with Oric interpreter, but what is the longest possible size of a basic line, when using tools like TXT2BAS?

True. But its those multi-.tap files you can get tangled up in ..
Yep, and the amount of $16 bytes before $24 in the TAP file can sometimes lead to surprises too, for historical reasons ;)

Re: Oric-1 16k memory management

Hey thanks for this!

I just checked, the test routine is in #F9DD (ROM 1.0. obviously)
They're writing #00 in #1000, then #FF in #5000, and read #1000 again. If it's #FF then it's a 16K Oric-1.
