Re: Oricutron 1.0 (EDIT: Now 1.2)

I tried to create new branch in http://code.google.com/p/oriculator/, but it failed. I put temporary the SDL2 port here: https://bitbucket.org/iss/oricutron-sdl2 (git clone https://bitbucket.org/iss/oricutron-sdl2.git oricutron-sdl2) It contains everything to the last commit (r653 - torguet) from cu...

Re: Oricutron 1.0 (EDIT: Now 1.2)

@Xeron: Re:Re: SDL2: I made porting very carefully, so simple 'make' produces 100% equal Oricutron with the current one. All differences are separated and clearly #ifdef-ed. Actually, there is no need to wait, I can commit to SVN in new branch asap. Else, Volunteers familiar with OpenGLES are wanted...

Re: Oricutron 1.0 (EDIT: Now 1.2)

+1 for github from me :).
It will be easier to have testing/temporary branches -
for instance for Oricutron with SDL2 which I already made,
but because of the big number of changes I'm afraid to commit to svn ;).

@Xeron: do you allow me to use Oricutron as background in my new avatar? :)

Re: VirtualBasic and Oric

Sometime ago I found Magic Gosub which allows to use GOTO and GOSUB with 'text labels' instead of line numbers. It can work together with Slammer! which uses REM to store data and machine code. These are for Apple ][ too. Else VirtualBasic looks very interesting indeed and powerful. Thanks for the i...

Re: Re Oric Atmos Serial Port

Thanks for translation!
It was fun for me to solve the hidden puzzle in BASIC example:

Code: Select all

POKE #321, PEEK(#321) GOLD 16
I was very curious to understand what the new logical operator "GOLD" means 8) .

Re: Oric Cinema - watch now full length movie ;)

@Symoon: You are right and you recall correctly! The original ASCII 'picture' is bigger. It's 80x24 characters, but in every frame are used only 13 lines. To fit horizontal I just cropped 10 columns from left and right - fortunately no big loss of 'visual details' ;). Than every frame is RLE compres...

Oric Cinema - watch now full length movie ;)

Hi all, Of course this is joke, but here are the facts: It follows the real storyline of "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope" . It has 3372 frames, they are played at ~1fps which gives almost 1 hour. Download, unzip attached "startwars.tap.zip" and load it in Oricutron. Get your favorite drink, big ...

Re: Gamebase Oric V3.0

I really like the Gamebase for Oric and I'm so happy to use your new release v3.0.
Having all that info for 1500 Oric games well ordered and easy to search and use is very valuable for me.
It will be very pity to know it's discontinued ...
Thanks for your hard work, dave3622!

Re: SWEET16 : Nice VM from Woz ..

Sweet16 is very interesting indeed. Just month ago I posted on forums.oric.org my very quick and dirty "port" for Oric of the original Woz source. Here you are: woz-sweet16.zip The test code at end of the source copies first line 10 times. In the other forum user called "assinie" wrote very interest...

Re: Oric Atmos resets after a few seconds ... when not groun

The transistor is NOT just to amplify the signal - it inverts it too and this is for purpose. You can take a look here - some devices with CVBS inputs really require the signal to be inverted, else the picture is as Dbug said: with inverted intensities. Else, no doubt the capacitor is C29 - this is ...

Re: Oric Atmos resets after a few seconds ... when not groun

IMO there is nothing modified on your modulator. This is just tantalum capacitor for filtering power lines - it's connected between metal case(GND) and +5V. Although what Dbug said about channel 36 is very interesting. I have an Atmos which I bought from UK and on its modulator label is printed: UM1...
