Hi!
I would like to see photos of inside the microdisc power supply. Would someone have the amiability to do them and put it here?
Components side and solder side, please.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Microdisc PSU
I'm using a 7.5V 1A psu to power my Atmos and it work fine and cold. I recommend use a 7.5V psu instead a 9V psu for 7905/7805 regulators.
Igotafro, I suggest to use a transformer with 7.5Vx2 1A or 1.5A windings to feed 7905 and LM323, and a 15V 1A transformer to feed to 7812.

Re: Microdisc PSU
Then... The transformer inside of microdisc psu has three output windings? One for Oric computer, one for 5V microdisc and one for 12V microdisc?

I think you should clean all the pulleys and rollers of dragging.

Re: The Hobbit on Oricutron
I think Slicebit is a member (rings a bell), so he might help. Now that I think about it I should register too... I am spanish and it is a retro forum where they speak about the Oric! What! I'm hearing ring a bell.:D I say the same to you Chema, we will be proud to have you between ourselves.

Re: The Hobbit on Oricutron
I was googling Oricutron, and I came upon a thread on a spanish forum (retrowiki.es) where they were dicussing The Hobbit, and it was mentioned that it doesn't work in Oricutron (TAPE ERROR). I couldn't register on the forum (and I don't speak spanish, but google translate helped), but if someone h...

Re: Microdisc faulty?
That's true but... Is the Phi2 output an open-drain output? (the 6502 is a N-MOS device) . Looking at Oric schematic i think no.

Re: Microdisc faulty?
the IC5 pin 2 signal has a strange shape.. Normally phi2 provides a square signal shape and a "pull up" resistor of 3.3k is there for that. The 3K3 pull up resistor is lost in my two Microdisc, i'll put them and i'll see the wave again. Also, the IC5 pin 2 signal has a level of, 3 squares...

Re: Microdisc faulty?
Hi! In the article, Réalisez un contrôleur de disquettes pour votre Oric (type Microdisc) part 2/3 , from Thierry Bestel, is mentioned a disquette issued quarterly with the Microdisc chronogrammes. Someone has the above mentioned disquette? Please, i'll be very grateful if the holder send me a priva...

I think that is a good idea, you can change the number of drive without dismantle all Microdisc.

Re: Microdisc faulty?
Hi nobbysnuts!
When i press the reset button nothing happen, some times the pattern on screen change, other times no. I tested the flat cables and all ok, i think the problem can be with signal integrity (Phi2) and others, and a unshielded flat cable.

Re: Microdisc faulty?
Thanks Symoon, for the fast reply.
Yes, i tried without the Atmos' PSU too and the Microdisc power the Atmos thru the expansion port, but same results. I forget to say that the two Microdisc don´t work on the three Atmos.
