Re: how to setup and use greaseweazle v4

USB provides 5V power. You can run 3.5" drives from it with no extra power suply. 3" drives need the 12V and 5V so need external power supply.

(Also find them on Facebook where you can ask questions if you have any problems.)

I recommend using this software to make things a bit easier.

Re: wordsworth to pc

Savedisk won't work with Opelco I suppose. And if you don't want a Gotek... Then plugging your floppy drives on your PC (assuming it's old enough to have a FDC on the motherboard) and using readdsk might be your best luck. See http://romualdl.oric.org/oric2pc/oric2pc.html A Win10 machine won't have...

Re: wordsworth to pc

It didn't work initially but I believe it does now. Other option is to use a Greasweazle which allows you to connect a floppy drive (not the whole Microdisc) to PC via USB. You can read the disk and make Hfe file. Then convert that to Oric.Dsk using the above (HxC) software. (You'll need Oric emulat...

Re: Cumana Reborn wanted

It depends on how the program is made. i.e there can be a loader screen and then the program. The tap files with two part combined will need separating. The loader will need instructions to load the main program which will need changing from cassette loading instructions to disk loading ones. Not too...

Re: wordsworth to pc

I think on Euphoric you could print something which would produce a text output. You could then copy the text into whatever word processor you wanted to use on the PC.
I don't recall what sort of printer output there is with Oricutron ? But possible something similar?

Re: Cumana Reborn wanted

Thanks for clarifying. It's so confusing ! I've used flash floppy (I think) with the Greasweazle and found it difficult to get the resulting HFE files to work as Dsk files. (Iss converted them for me. ) I was told the HxC emulator software worked now with converting to Oric .Dsk files but I haven't ...

Re: Cumana Reborn wanted

Isn't that for the Greaseweazle?

I thought Cumana Reborn used HxC firmware?

Tatung Einstein has the floppy controller built in so you don't need a Cumana Reborn, just the Gotek.

Re: Cumana Reborn wanted

Well, the disk controller in the Cumana Reborn has the Oric Atmos ROM, so it would not work on other machines without removing that. The rest of it is basically a Gotek with FlashFloppy firmware. I don't think so. It's the Erebus that has the Atmos ROM. Cumana has a Microdisc ROM. A real Cumana wor...

Re: Floppy duplication

Old PC is easiest way to write MSDOS disk and you can write Oric disks with Euphoric installed.

A cheap Win98 laptop is they way to go, but people are asking high prices for anything old on Ebay etc.

Yes, Erebus needs to get an Oric-1 option, which'd solve some of the problems.

Re: Oric-1 BASIC PROGRAMMING MANUAL reprint

I'm guessing this is pinched from the Oric library.
The cover image matches the cropped one there.
I wonder if the Atmos manual will follow?
