Re: Whither TANSOFT ORICMON?
Just a followup, I tried the version of TANSOFT OricMon that is available in the TOCSEC archive from archive.org, and it doesn't seem to load... unless it takes a *long* time, which I don't think is the case .. seems to just be a bug. Anyone got the chops to inspect this .TAP file and see if there i...

Re: Whither ORICMON?

Re: Whither ORICMON?
Always oricutron, and yes now I've confirmed that your version and the oric.org version both work, but the one I had on disk doesn't. Maybe I just goofed it.
Anyway, thanks for checking it Symoon ..

Re: "Paradis" Telestrat serveur disks for sale
>motivated Well, I'm now a curator at the local Retro Computing museum here in Vienna, Austria, so these sorts of things are of immense interest to us - it provides much needed context for our visitors, and we are at risk - particularly in the Oric world - of these things falling into the hands of p...

Re: Oric Atmos in Vienna: RETROGAMING Museum
Short update, we had 8000 visitors to the museum in August! Once we got everything set up, I visited every week on Thursdays and Friday (Sat/Sun, alternating), and personally witnessed the 8-bit section in constant use! Folks seem to have really enjoyed having access to the real machines. The Oric h...
Re: JEB SOFT
I could most certainly attempt it, and would be glad to make an event out of it (for the retro museum here in Vienna, at which I am now officially a Curator) for posterity, as such an event itself is very relevant to our visitors. The museum can cover postal costs, and we could also return the casse...

Re: Oric Atmos in Vienna: RETROGAMING Museum
I've updated the exhibit with captions, which some of you might be interested in reading - so I've made them available in a public repository for the exhibit, where we will inevitably also be storing materials related to the workshops as time goes by... https://github.com/seclorum/retroGamingMuseumV...

Re: Oric Atmos in Vienna: RETROGAMING Museum
Something very interesting is happening .. every day of the visit since I got it set up last week, I have met an ORIC USER! "Whoa, 8-bit section .. cool .. oh my <fnord> .. is that AN ORIC?! I HAD ONE OF THOSE!" I've heard this reaction in various forms every day since last week when we go...

Re: Oric Atmos in Vienna: RETROGAMING Museum
Oh, we have a few other games and things in mind that demonstrate the machine nicely .. SPACE 1999 has a great intro, Defence Force, etc.
But I would like to have a workshop on different demos at some point so I will revisit this ..

Oric Atmos in Vienna: RETROGAMING Museum
Hi Folks, I'm happy to report that the Retrogaming Museum[1] here in Vienna now has a working 8-bit workshop, which includes our favourite Oric Atmos (as well as a ZX Spectrum, CPC6128, Atari ST's, C64, etc.) set up and operational and ready for some fun. first_8bit_row.png I'd like to ask all of yo...
