There's been some discussion of the new C64 Prince of Persia release over at the Retro Gamer forum. As it stands, its paging data in from external memory so an Oric port would I assume need to be a disk only release, or make large reductions from the standard game. We should have the C64 version pla...

That would be great, thanks Chema.

I'll do a spot of testing if you want. I've played the original so I'm familiar with it (never finished it though).

Do you have a planned launch date for the game? Just curious, as there's a massive retro gaming event (REPLAY) in the UK next month (several thousand visitors). It'd be nice to showcase a brand new Oric game on launch day, giving the system a little limelight. I'll be there to run it if you're not a...

I'm impressed. I think the scrolling is a nice compromise, it looks like a very accurate port. Another showcase game for the Oric to prove it could have been a contender.

Quality interview that one. I don't know that Mark writes for RG any more.

A very interesting insight to the game and AI in general, thanks for taking the time to explain that Chema.

That's an excellent find, I love this site. I like that it'll convert documents on the fly so you can have them in a variety of formats and they're not all just jpegs. Its a shame Oric Owner isn't on there (yet) but some of the multi format 8 bit mags do have Oric content - Big K magazine for exampl...

Fair comment Symoon. Any idea what the current readership figures are?

I don't think it needs a heavy translation job, just someone good enough to sort the Googlish into a slightly more readable form and patch up the technical bits so they make sense again.

Je ne parle pas français! Ain't "google translate" cool! :D Its ok to get the general tone and theme of an article, but it loses much of the detail especially when discussing complex technical things. Ideally you'd have CEO translated into at least English and Spanish to maximise its audience. I'm ...

Its looking great Chema. Might I suggest a mono mode is available, as it looks very crisp in its current form. Colour is nice, but as many Spectrum games show sometimes the lack of colour can work in your favour. Knowing the game, I'm sure there's still some easy options to splash colour around on l...

WinXP on a 300Mhz PC? Evrything will be slow, not just Oriculator.

You'd be better off running Win98SE on that and using Euphoric without DOSBox - that's pretty much the system it was designed for. You'll get better performance all round.

Would it be possible for us to send the parts and pay the customs fees if needed? Between a bunch of us it may not be overly expensive and would allow him to continue.

This technique goes as far back as the ZX81. If you know the ZX81, you'll be aware it has no sound output at all. The ZX81 had two modes, fast and slow (or slow and slower still as the old gag says). In slow mode, the system works much like any other computer, but in fast mode it disables the screen...
