GEEK 2012 starts today

I can't attend this one: http://gameexpoeastkent.co.uk/ But I do know there's at least one Atmos on display (and hopefully playable) as I sent it there on Monday :D I couldn't find my tape deck (I've no idea where I've misplaced it since November) but thanks to Symoon's recent discussions on WAV fil...

Probably easier to look at a MIDI conversion tool.

That'd be pretty simple as far as the first couple of tracks.

Once you get to more than 3 instruments it could start to get tricky.

Might I suggest getting in touch with WorldofSpectrum.org and asking there who deals with the distribution issues? They have the Spectrum version so they should have had the necessary permissions granted. If they have an inside contact or some agreement it may be that they can give some leverage for...

Hard as this may seem, there's no escaping Alternative's copyright. Simply saying 'it's a new version' won't work. Its clearly a copy not just in visuals, but with its timetable, the AI methods, the game objectives and means of achieving them... Aside from it being a port of the code to a new platfo...

There's a small mention of us at Replay and some pics on Jason Kelk's blog here: http://jasonkelk.me.uk/2011/11/return-from-replay-2011/ I'd also forgotten to post this, the second of the posters I knocked up for display but didn't get the opportunity to print: http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a25/A...

Myself on the left, the snappily dressed Coolman66 on the right, Skool Daze on my Atmos in the middle. I want one of those shirts! http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a25/Antiriad2097/Replay%202011/PICT0009.jpg Stuck in D' 80s (aka SID 80s) played on Saturday evening. As always, their lineup changed so...

Who knew Chema was such a ladies man? ;) The exhibition is over, I spent yesterday travelling home so I'm only now catching up with things online again. Several thousand people attended the show (not sure of the final figures yet, but current estimates are over 3500). Jason Kelk (Retro Gamer magazin...

I'm having real problems loading this on my Atmos. Using the doke trick above it loads, but the background graphics are all corrupt so the characters walk over random blobs instead of a school. A WAV issue, an Atmos problem or possibly just a volume/audio issue with the playback device (I was playin...

With Chema's approval, I'll be showing a Skool Daze WIP to the public at Replay ( www.replayexpo.com ) tomorrow. This is a sneak preview of the display I plan to use next to the Oric: http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a25/Antiriad2097/Oric/SD.jpg I also plan to display an 'Other games available at De...

I wonder if the translation issue could be handled at the Emulation level (not suitable on a real oric). Perhaps, within the emulator (e.g. oricutron) a switch could be set that would then output any text to a seperate pop-up window which could then be translated - perhaps automatically - by google...

On another note and following Dbug's advice now by pressing 'C' during the game session it is possible to change the color combination. For now it cycles between CYAN/YELLOW, CYAN/GREEN and Monocrhome (b&w), but will test more and think about which to keep. How about leaving it to the user? Give us...

I'll be there. If everything works out, I'm hoping to have a build of Chema's conversion of Skool Daze to show off. We had at least one Oric on show to play with last year, so I expect that will be there again, but I plan to test my own to take with me too just in case we're short. For those who don...
