Re: A possible software alternative to Vsync?

Thanks iss. I knew it was you :) That being said, I had to change something... probably the VIA counter value. In my sources you can check that. I also had a different value in the status line when I tried to sync with oricutron's sync routine and even with hardware vsync hack. Don't know exactly wh...

Re: Oricutron 1.0 (EDIT: Now 1.2)

May I suggest that the saving/loading of data arrays with STORE/RECALL not working is quite of an important bug in the emulator, and I think it is not yet solved? Joking apart, you are doing an excellent job supporting Oricutron. Maybe it is time some of us jump in and collaborate at least wi...

Re: Oric logo and trademark

The only issue that might happen is that they are intending to make money with some kind of emulation product, so they get the rights for the ROM, and/or some software titles. Then they can start being a nuisance...

Re: Oric logo and trademark

Ugh... not sure what this means, but I get worries when someone pays for these kind of intellectual property rights on old computers and brands...

It's funny that the logo is not the original... surely that means something.

Re: Novalight - very fast tape loading

In the last version I included a Press Key To Start just to avoid that, not sure if you tried and old version or pressed a key. The thing is that the VSync hack detection routine detects noise coming from the tape in, it wrongly assumes the hack is present and identifies every pulse as the VSync sig...

Re: A possible software alternative to Vsync?

I tried an implementation someone (iss?) sent me in Blake's 7, to avoid problems with the cursor. You can check the sources in the repo. I am not at home now, so I can't do it, sorry. Maybe later... Done :) check http://miniserve.defence-force.org/viewvc/projet1/users/chema/Blakes7/Sources/auxiliar....

Re: CC65 to DSK

The C library is probably calling ROM routines directly. As the Oric 1 has totally different entry points and routine organization, the same code won't work. It is possible to make code that detects the machine type at the expense of some CPU cycles, but I am not sure that all the needed ROM routine...

Re: OType

Scrolling the attributes will alter the colours of the ships when they are at a fixed location. Yes, which is why I suggested to copy the attributes, not just the pixel data. This way the colors are preserved. I understood. What I mean is that the player's ships (enemies too?) also use AIC, so if t...

Re: Oric-1 Repair

Ah, bad luck then... It is possible to find a new ULA (there were some at sale on ebay, iirc), but if several chips are damaged it might not be worth the effort.

Sorry to hear :(

Re: OType

Scrolling the attributes will alter the colours of the ships when they are at a fixed location. About the syncing it is possible to do it, but what Dbug says is that it takes longer than the blank period to update the scroll. Probably longer than a frame time. I think I managed to scratch 7000 cycle...

Re: Oric on VGA monitors

No sure if your image is too stretched, but the original is. The Oric resolution is 240x200(+24 for the tree lines of text) instead of the usual 320x200, which gives pixels that are somewhat rectangular and ellipses instead of circles. You can emulate the Oric real aspect ratio in Oricutron with a f...
