Re: ORIC SDCARD

Looks great! Congratulations!

Will you publish the schematics and data needed to build one? Does it need a modified ROM? Could the method be used to load tap files from a disk unit?

Re: Oricutron and window size/scale

I think there is not an option to do this in the current version :( I would also love to be able to set an integer (x3 x4 ...) scale in Oricutron, but we'd have to wait until some developer makes it happen  However, just as a side note, you may want to set up the correct aspect ratio of the Or...

Re: Manic Miner

I could not make it work on Oricutron yet. It keeps searching for the first block with the turbo-tape disabled (enabled it does not load anything).

Did not try with the latest version though.

Strange you could not produce a working tap file... makes me curious..

Re: Manic Miner

Nice! I could only try the cracked version, which had some corrupted graphics. Not sure if the image in oric.org is the cracked one, but if it is, I wonder if you could upload the original version (with the colour code card, that is).

Re: Oric 1 with messy video problem

If he is using a c64 cable, it is not compatible at all. Check: http://www.cbmitapages.it/tecnico/C64scart.gif Versus the Oric http://www.48katmos.freeuk.com/ports.htm And not only that, but the expected video signal is composite, not RGB. He could be feeding the blue channel as the composite video ...

Re: Oric 1 with messy video problem

I think the C64 outputs a composite video signal not RGB. Even the pin-out is different.

You need a cable made specifically for the Oric. And the use the RGB input.

Re: Oric 1 with messy video problem

Hmmm... not sure about your configuration. The svideo is not compatible with RGB. In the SCART you can have both; maybe you are probably using the wrong signal. I'd say you cannot use just an svideo to SCART converter, you need to use a TV that can input RGB. Most TVs with SCART can, although most a...

Re: merging files

I am not sure you want to achieve, but doesn't the COPY command have a /b option for merging binary files?

COPY /B File1.bin + File2.bin merged.bin

That should work.

Re: OSDK 1.15

I am failing to help with this... I hardly use C with the Oric, as Dbug said. But I agree with him: it would be vital to understand that size difference before anything else, because it could be hiding something nasty. There is no use in making aggressive -O3 optimizations work if the generated code...

Re: cataloguing tapes

That was a really nice video Dbug! You were ordered and meticulous indeed :) I remember when I was looking for a home computer. I had the ZX Spectrum on mind, though back then, the games were quite primitive. I had a crush somewhat for the Atari, but it was too expensive. I saw a C64 too, but it did...
