Re: Assembly functions for Sedoric OPEN, TAKE, PUT, CLOSE

Have you tried a binary diff between the two DSK files?

Re: Pictoric (was: New conversion algorithm)

There is no way of showing sprites without artifacting, because paper color will always be either black or white. What would you have WHITE paper in AIC mode? Generally WHITE in AIC mode is just inverted BLACK paper so you still have full control on what PAPER and INK is on each line, or did I miss...

Re: Assembly functions for Sedoric OPEN, TAKE, PUT, CLOSE

I don't think they exist as "tap" anymore, but the important thing is that files on the Oric, both on TAP and DSK formats, knows which address they need to be loaded to (that's why you can save a HIRES screen to disk and when loading it will automatically loads in A000). I've never used OPEN, so no ...

Re: Pictoric (was: New conversion algorithm)

Question: Now that you have AIC running, do you still need to have your big bands of artefacts on the left and right of the character and mouse cursor, should it not be possible to just have a proper masking out that would allow moving the character and cursor without any visual glitch?

Re: Pictoric (was: New conversion algorithm)

Working here as well (Oricutron 1.2 from the OSDK)

Re: Assembly functions for Sedoric OPEN, TAKE, PUT, CLOSE

The Sedoric expert is André Cheramy who wrote "Sedoric a Nu", a complete commented disassembly of Sedoric and how it works, not sure if there was any English version of it. I've been frustrated by the whole "sedoric()" thing because it was basically unusable for anything other that run a load comman...

Re: OricSpin : The FrontEnd

It's nice, but it has the same major issue that has been annoying me with Oric Base and all these other archive: The games don't have documentation. Just one (totally random) example: Space 1999 is supposed to come with maps of the base and some manuals about how the game work. Not providing the man...

Just a quick question: can this algorithm be adapted to spew out AIC format pictures???
That's not actually a bad idea: Basically have the algorithm select the best combinations of ink, paper, invert, with a fixed set of color attributes on the left side of the screen.

Re: Oricutron 1.0 (EDIT: Now 1.2)

Ok, I will have to test this version (and ideally would be nice if a couple other people could try it) to see if it's a worthy update for the one in the OSDK, and if yes, I can publish a new version of the OSDK with that one :)

Re: cc65-Chess for Oric by [raxiss]

Question: Does the game uses a lot of memory for the AI? I was wondering if that would help to auto-detect the presence of a disk controller to use the upper 16k of ram for additional search tree capabilities? EDIT: I made it my Oric software Tweet of the day https://twitter.com/DefenceForceOrg/stat...

Re: Artist Oric

Imo, the "easiest" way to simulate what he did, would be to implement a version of curset/draw that can accept coordinates out of the screen and properly clip the, and potentially also have 0,0 in the center of the screen. Doing that, you could easily use whatever trigonometric function you want, wi...

Re: Sound hacking and Oricutron: Paste from clipboard in Atmos mode?

Else all dev-builds which I release are built from the "genuine" sources in the github repository at the moment of the release. In the title is embedded automatically the exact hash number of the commit used for the particular release. For instance in my above video the title contains: Oricutron DE...

Maybe you should all specify which revision/version of Oricutron you are using?

Tbh, I did not even know (or remembered?) that Oricutron supported copy-paste :D
