I tested with Xenon1: success!
the autostart did not work: I must type RUN after Oric device switched on
Someone knows the address of the "RUN" routine ?
Any pictures?

Re: Cumulus Issues

Hi Peacer, SD cards aren't recognized at all yet (so stick to SDHC - formatted with FAT32) I think you need a more powerful PSU (the original oric psu wont cut it apparently). Read previous entries on this thread regarding power supplies. Try a different IDE cable - this worked for me - had same pro...

Re: OSDK 1.0 and website

It's good to see this information with examples all in one place. I really like the format/layout (everything is easy to find) Things I think are missing: Description of Tap2Dsk and old2mfm The new pictconv flags (the img2oric stuff) (it mentions it on the download section but the writeup omits the ...

Re: Fast scrolling game howto, anyone?

16 letter password? Yikes...might that get a bit annoying? To save frustration (you might get to the final level but write down the code wrong...a self-induced epic fail!) could you do something like save a file called "player name" or something that - when played from disk - just auto saves the las...

Re: MOON ADVENTURE

The problem you have with the f6 version seems to me like a change in attribute (probably setting text mode or something like that). Whenever you mix frames, be sure that you don't mix attributes in a fashion they come up with something invalid. Not sure how the f6 option works but be careful if yo...

Two for the price of one..this is how having a bath on the moon might look like. Admire the way the gravity affects the flow of water...It's necessary for the plot...

Spoiler alert: There's tits in it.

Re: MOON ADVENTURE

First, normal explosion (mono) EXPLOSION1.tap And now in color...using -f2 in pictconv EXPLOSION1-F2.tap Frustratingly...the f6 option in pictconv screws up the animation (except for the first 1-2 frames) Works OK with the walking skeleton...definite possibilities...although plain red looks better. ...

Re: MOON ADVENTURE

I was actually wondering about something: Perhaps the RGB/scanline mode is worth testing for color animation. It may actually work. After seeing the Speccie movies on Saturday color just HAS to be done somewhere. Not sure how it would look just storing the changes between frames...bound to lose som...

Some pics First, an Atari 800XL showing off the legendary " Drop Zone " (a personal favourite of mine). This Atari has been signed by Archer Maclean (the author of Drop Zone no less!) Just visible is a Sinclair ZX81 fitted - I think - with a ZXpand module (SD card, 32K memory, sound etc) Atari800XL-...

Re: Recursion 2014 Computer Science Fair

Just got back, Met Andy from the RCM - top man - lots of old computers. They have 5 orics at the museum but they didn't bring any to the show.... :( They don't have any disc drives which made it difficult to demo them. Andy has ordered a cumulus so it should be different at the next show. So there I...
