Wow, I'm amazed to see so many reactions for such an out-dated tool :) It took me hours to find the source code again. It's an old Visual Basic 3 code, and, well, it's my very dirty programming, you guys have been warned! One things that good Windows programmers should do to update the source code w...

11 years later, a new version of PCHires is available ;-) http://www.geocities.com/symoonmyself/pchires.zip Grab it fast before Geocities disappears! In this new version: - correction of a file size bug. Some garbage was recorded at the end of the file, which made the resulting Hires screens sometim...

There was a bug in PC Hires indeed. I will soon post a new version, that should be fine, and that includes now a correct option to make hires screens that can be cloaded in a program with ROM V1.0 (but this option will prevent the screen from loading in XnView). About Xnview, I got the latest versio...

XnView

The excellent XnView program claims it can read Oric Hires screens. See: http://www.xnview.com/en/formats.html#o I tried to load a simple Oric Hires file, renamed .HIR, with or without tape header, and it failed with an "unknown format" error message. Did someone ever manage to use this? What exact ...

Re: Trying to find an old program I remember: DrumSynth?

There's a "Drumulator" here:
http://www.oric.org/index.php?page=soft ... m_log=2189

Hope that helps !
EDIT: oh, sorry, only the 1st part of the programs are available on the downloadable disk.
I don't have the other one, help please!

Yeah, and that would be cool to have an idea of how these sentences were said.
I found "another visitor" on Youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoSNuafbiJw

If you go at 2mins in the video, you'll hear "destroy him my robots" and "aaaaaah" (although this one didn't really need to be explained ;))

For Chema, oric.org could be the binary repository, defence force the source repository why not. But, should i put these binaries in the same databank than oric software or in another databank ? Not easy. There's already a Utility section, but only for Oric software. Could we consider PC/Mac progra...

I would have no problem having a central repository and send my old (and bugged  ) tools there. Waskol, Scott and Andre M. made nice tools for Oric too, and I suspect Jede did, too, but doesn't tell much about them. There are also older ones from people that left the Oric World. I have absolu...

Geocities is closing

Hi all,

I just learnt (a bit late ;-) that Yahoo will close Geocities this year. I wonder why they bought it a few years ago?

I'll have to move my old website somewhere else, I'll keep you informed.
Note: must not forget to update the Oric web ring !

Maybe others can recollect when they played this game? I played on the Atari ST. IIRC, it was called Impossible Mission II. I only have vague memories of it, I found the game way too hard to be finished in the time allowed and got tired of it after a few tries. Well, maybe I hadn't discovered the b...

Mmmmh, so it seems much more complicated than what I thought ;-)
I just imagined a small switch plugged somewhere could have been enough.
That was too easy :?

Overlay RAM

Hi, Sorry, I guess this question has been asked before but I didn't find where. So: how complicated would it be to design something so that simple Orics without disk drive can access to the overlay RAM? A simple switch plugged to the ROMDIS and somewhere else (?) or something like this would be enou...
