Re: What does everyone think of this?

This dual floppy system is produced by jorodr.
As you can see, hi has 100% positive feedback in ebay. I can recommend the system too.

Re: Bootsector format?

... what we care is about a disk format that can be read by the hardware/bios of the controller. Good. (Generally conventions states that track numbers are zero based and sector numbers are one based) ((Generally true only for PC because of BIOS int 13h else in Dos8D and in the original Apple][ DOS...

Re: Bootsector format?

Hi Dbug, the task you started is real challenge. I follow discussion with big interest and I'm ready to help with Pravetz compatibility. Unfortunately the structure and the whole "architecture" of Dos8D is completely different from Sedoric. Important are some limitations of hardware: - 35 tracks / 1...

Re: Native OSDK for Linux and OSX possible?

bin2c - well known utility to convert binary file to c - source code.
dxa (disassembler), file65, ldo65 and reloc65 are parts of XA.

Re: Native OSDK for Linux and OSX possible?

Sure! It's ugly - but in last 2 days I worked from ~7-8 different places and I used git as dropbox :). BitBucket has its own imagination how git works too. So what is in history is not relevant at all. Anyway, my idea was you just to download from git modified sources, then checkout DF svn and run s...

Re: Native OSDK for Linux and OSX possible?

Today I added: bin2c, dxa, file65, ldo65, reloc65, tap2wav, txt2bas, 4k8totap, 4k8towav, wav2tap, wavclean.
No problems with compilation at all.

Re: Fast scrolling game howto, anyone?

Wow! I like SFX and Screen calibration routine!
I have a small request: can you pls dump the value after calibration when using Oricutron and real Oric?
I'm very interested is it 19966 or 20000 :).

Re: Native OSDK for Linux and OSX possible?

I prepared osdk - the Linux port of the OSDK as git repository hosted at BitBucket : https://bitbucket.org/iss/osdk . Info about installation and basic usage can be found in README file. Last added utilities makedisk, mym2ym and ym2mym are included too . @Dbug : All changes in source files are...

Re: Speech

Yes, I truly believe it's doable. Did you tried ever the Bulgarian synthesizer? It's really good. As first step I'll make needed changes to Oricutron to support the "wire-hack" (I think Xeron will agree :)), so everyone can try this "speaking wonder". Together with this I'll translate program's Bulg...

Re: Speech

Ha! This can't be coincident. First - yesterday I was busy to disassemble the Bulgarian speech program for Oric and Pravetz 8D- nice synthesizer talking relatively understandable :). It uses "hardware" hack - one simple wire between tape-out and sound pins on audio connector. I reverse it because so...

Re: Native OSDK for Linux and OSX possible?

Long postponed, but today I made quick port of OSDK for Linux 32/64. It uses standard features (make, sh, etc. so probably will work in OSX too). Foreseen is to be build out of main OSDK tree for easy support. If there is interest I'll be happy to: - supply patch for the current OSDK in SVN; - commi...
