Re: French Oric with modulator ?

I'm wondering if there is any problem with putting a modulator back on? In my opinion there should be no problem to solder RF modulator. It's interesting if the PAL PROM and the resistors are on board... BTW, the Oric was just sold for 68.88 GBP (~95 USD) - very high price again despite the missing...

Re: TapOric - android TAP player for Oric

Hello, Jack_Free and welcome.
TapOric is still in development. I'm working on new encoding which (hopefully) will improve the transfer speed.
I can release a version for beta testing, but what is your experience with Oric?
(This is not an interview for job, I'm just curios :)).

Re: FloppyBuilder evolution

@Chema: 8D-FDC and DOS-8D were created to be compatible with Apple ][ Disk floppy disks - 5.25", single side, 35 tracks, 16 sectors/track, 256 bytes/sector. There are many image file formats for these disks, but the most simple one is the 'DSK'. It stores only the real data from sectors without any...

Re: FloppyBuilder evolution

Does somebody remember the discussion ( here and here ) about 'TrippleBootDisk' with FloppyBuilder ? Well... 4+ years later (which is not bad)... I have it! Once generated with FloppyBuilder one and the same image boots in Oricutron with all FDC's: Microdisk, Jasmin and 8D. Of course for 8...

Re: Server hiccups/lag/not responding

Hi Dbug,
server work fine for me, but I found that the nice DF forum icon is missing - http://forum.defence-force.org/favicon.ico .
Else http://defence-force.org/favicon.ico and http://osdk.defence-force.org/favicon.ico are OK! :)

Re: Merging video output?

What are these DR/Q_Q boxes? This are D-type flip-flops, R is asynchronous reset in real world they are TTL 7474 chips. The idea here is to drop pulses util both pictures are perfect aligned. There will be one button for every slave Oric. And 6 presses on the button should move the slave picture wi...

Re: Merging video output?

After many tries with different feedback circuits I was unable to achieve something really working. :? Now I think to try something else - to create a circuit which can drop exactly one pulse from the 12MHz clock. Below is the picture and HERE you can try it in simulator - click and hold the switch ...

Re: Midi/Joystick interface?

It looks very close to the "MIDI/Minitel interface for Oric".
I think it's only MIDI and kind of serial interface, i.e. no joystick.

Re: Merging video output?

20171216_000215.jpg ... and here is the short clip: https://youtu.be/W6KxqdzQLX8 What is new: I connected the SYNC output to the TAPE input (i.e. the famous VSYNC hack ;)) to filtrate H-sync pulses and left only V-sync to be used for synchronization. In the video I manually connect and disconnect t...

Re: Identifying Oric-1

Take a look in Atmos ROM disassembly: http://www.defence-force.org/ftp/oric/documentation/v1.1_rom_disassembly.pdf There are lot places marked with V1.0 and V1.1 which show differences in both versions - most are in page 2. If the question is exactly for a zero page address then you can use $31 - Sc...

Re: Merging video output?

20171213_231329.jpg This is today's best result. :) We are getting closer and closer.... For now I have the same results with extra ULA and without it, so which is better - I still don't know. About the video mixer - having an emulator for experiments and development will be really great! Else I th...

Re: Merging video output?

Additionally I made one quick and dirty ROM for testing. On the pictures above you see vertical lines - it's not coincidence! Attached are the sources, 4k and 2k ROM files. You can load them in Oricutron - edit 'oricutron.cfg' and set the 4k file as atmos rom or the 2k file as microdisk rom then sta...
