Re: I2C for the Oric

Pretty soon I'm going to give this a try - but I'll use the PlatformIO IDE. Heard of it yet? Its a lot more useful than Arduino, and compatible with it also ..

https://platformio.org

I use this to do my development work on the MS3000 project ..

Re: Painting in Coloric Ascii Art

Very nice! Culling in the demo was very nice to see.

I imagine with a slightly tweaked CHARSET and maybe using only a quarter of the screen, some pretty performant effects could be had. BATTLEZONE Oric sure seems incoming..

Re: My new Cumana drive ;)

Some critical observations offered in support of this great device, after a couple of days of use .. 1) Is it just me, or does the Cumana Reborn seem to slow some titles down? I've got both Cumulus and Cumana Reborn devices locally, and games such as Krillys and Defender Force definitely feels slowe...

Re: I2C for the Oric

Oh, I completely missed its a printer-based device. Makes much more sense. >I think these are exciting times. If back in the 80's someone had told me that one day I could load anything from anywhere with my Oric I would have laughed. Very definitely agree with you here. I mean, we're putting Oric's ...

Re: I2C for the Oric

Wow, nice work! Yeah, its a long shot, but I need to ask - is there any opportunity for us to add this hardware feature to the Cumana Reborn, by any chance? Maybe there's a spare pin onboard that could be used? I can only imagine how cool it'd be to have a Cumana with WiFi capabilities ..

I never paid much attention to Zebbie or Trouble In Store, nor Water Panic - but they seem pretty fun ..

Re: Tendre Poulet - used AIC?

Great explanation, thanks .. and you're right, I probably could've just stepped into the debugger, but I guess it was a mater of natural (local) circumstances prec-loo-ding the effort. ;)

The loading title isn't AIC? Also, the head of the chicken?

Tendre Poulet - used AIC?

Hi, I've just been going through some of the Oric long play videos and discovered "Tendre Poulet" - to me it looks like this game used AIC in 1984? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxvugUkFpQQ Could we have had AIC sooner, if only we'd been paying attention? To me it seems some of the techniques that...

Re: List of official Oric software & games

I highly doubt there's a downloadable list, but the oric.org/software collection is pretty well curated. There are rare gems in there as well as all the classics. Its pretty complete.

Maybe there's a way to snarf the data from the site, I dunno.

Oric Next ..

I see the Spectrum Next is shipping, and I'm a bit green about it to be honest - so I figured I'd ask if anyone here is planning to do a Kickstarter for "Oric Next", and if so .. can we please get on with it .. ;)
