Re: Dead oric 1

Hi,
do you know how to read a chip and how to identify its pins (from 1 to 40 by example, for the largest chips) ?
Did you get the Oric's schematics ?

Re: Dead oric 1

Hi Traindriver69, good to see that the 7905 is good. But there is still something on the mother board that drains a "lot" of current. 4.1 V are not sufficient ! And you said that the speaker is making noise... Not good ! Is your Oric plugged to a tv or a monitor ? Unplug everything. Just keep the Or...

Re: Dead oric 1

The measure has to be done outside the Oric, between the power supply and the computer. If you make it with the Plus Power line (usually in red on the schematics), you could try something like that : schema2.jpg and tell us what you read in DC amperemeter position (settings on 2 Amp or more in a fir...

Re: Dead oric 1

9V or 12V are the same for testing purpose. No damage to expect. But the value of 4.2V seems to be not enough for the Oric... Around 5V is perfect. The schematics on the sticker is good. I propose to put the multimeter in ammeter option in your power line positive. It should read around 700-800 mA (...

Re: Oric-1 Sound Mod HELP !

Happy to see that everything's fine.
Where did you put the pot ?
It could be useful for other "aficionados" (and I am one) to show the way you solved the problem. :D

Re: Oric-1 Sound Mod HELP !

volume control on the Oric is the main thing I am after I have published a way to control Oric's volume in the Oric.org website, see forum and look for "REGLAGE DU SON DE L'ORIC". Sorry, it is in flag_fr , but you can use the schematics. Hope that could help you. Maybe I have to translate it for de...

Re: Oric-1 Sound Mod HELP !

And after having checked everything, please consider that you actually want to use a second speaker way for a in-line sound of a monitor with built-in amplifier and speaker... Maybe you face a problem of level adaptation. The 1084 wiki says: "Monitor input signals at the CINCH socket 1) Accumulated ...

And also, because I can't see it, did you cut the track on the Oric board between the red and the grey wires ?

Re: Oric-1 Sound Mod HELP !

Hi,
could you connect a speaker on your RCA plug, something like 8 ohm/half or 1 Watt ?
Just to hear (or not) any sound ?

Re: ORIC SDCARD

Thanks to Edl42 !
I've modified a little bit the code and the schematics to use a 1602 I2C LCD (only 2 pins for the Nano : A4 and A5).
I am just waiting for a SD card reader module and soon, I will made a 'dirty" copy of it.
Will report whatever is the result. 8)

Re: DRAMARDUINO - Dram tester with Arduino

Hi Iss,
Thank you for sharing the DramTester.
I've made one and it works !
I just controlled some 4164 and it is a good and not so long test :)
If you agree, I will show this Arduino shield on flag_fr CEO forum.
Have a good day !
