Yeah, I'm eager to look at this, as I had my own ideas for Telestrat-compatible ORIC extensions…

Alchimie 12, Nov. 10-12, Tain l'Hermitage (France)
As always, the TripleA association is hosting the Alchimie demoparty in Tain l'Hermitage this November.
We'll have Amiga, Atari and many other oldschool machines, including ORIC!
There will also be some conferences.
The event is in French.

Re: Which EEPROM chip should I get to burn a new ROM?
Indeed in this era EPROM generations mostly had backward compatible pinouts to allow reusing designs, by adding the extra addressing pins at the top of the package. You need to make sure the pinout is compatible by checking the datasheet. People also did this on Atari ST to get multiple TOS versions...

Re: Oric 1 display in North America
Another option is converting RGB to composite. I started a project to make a PCB using an AD724 chip at the hackerspace, but it's not finished yet. I have a prototype with wires everywhere which just works for me... In theory the chip has a PAL/NTSC selection pin, although I'm not sure which timing ...

Re: A possible software alternative to Vsync?
The picture shows the delta between the actual line number and the IRQ if it was in perfect sync, over time (Y), and on each possible start line (X). Ie., for each possible line the ULA is on when we try to sync, on X, it shows how close we get to syncing it back to the IRQ over time (Y). That is, i...

Re: A possible software alternative to Vsync?
Interestingly, I wrote some python code to play with the idea last june:
http://miniserve.defence-force.org/svn/ ... autovsync/
It shows it's possible to limit the difference to 52 lines.

Re: Native OSDK for Linux and OSX possible?
I didn't have time to look much, but at least the history seems quite ugly to me, most of it being a huge deletion and a revert commit right along... That's the kind of things to avoid, and remove before pushing to public repos... Besides, since it's not yet forked itself you should probably rebase ...

Re: Cumulus Preorder Thread
I might be interested, not sure yet if I have the budget... (EDIT: DONE - With the connector question restriction) I didn't follow the whole story, but from what I guessed the controller board has a 40 pins connector to use an IDE cable, meaning the amplibus board is required to plug into the ORIC, ...

Re: Native OSDK for Linux and OSX possible?
Indeed, I already did most of the preliminary work in svn (fixing all the ugly non-POSIX calls) but didn't have time to finish... I'd like to have a look at the diff first. As for building programs, I already have a fully working makefile engine template in svn, just not integrated with OSDK yet: ht...
