if it's OK for Targhan, it's obviously OK for me!
I guess the XA version will be specific for the ORIC. So send him your port so he can include it to a next version of Arkos Tracker II.

Re: Clock Signal — an Oric emulator for macOS and Linux
@ThomH: you understanding is far beyond my own abilities but I think it's exactly why Jim Sather used "approximately" when he wrote about Apple II clock speed of 1.0205Mhz

Re: Clock Signal — an Oric emulator for macOS and Linux
Just for information and to be precise, Apple II's clock is 1.0205 Mhz (not 1.0250) (according Jim Sather's "Understanding the Apple II", THE reference.)

Re: Orikai
@iss: hoho I think you're right! peacer seems to use the 64 bits version of FreeImage.dll (cf. his Dependency Walker screenshot) The download link I pasted in my first post contains both versions. I should have said that Orikai needed the 32-bit version! My bad! Thank you very much! note: I edited m...

Re: Orikai
your vcruntime140.dll is probably fine, so you'll must check the others. It's a bit boring to do, sorry for that! But I do not see any other leads to your problem... Here are all my version numbers for each DLL used: (all in C:\Windows\SysWOW64) kernel32.dll : 10.0.17134.1 user32.dll : 10.0.17134.1 ...

Re: Orikai
if all DLLs are present in your system, you have to check the version numbers. Especially for VCRUNTIME140.DLL: For example, I have two different versions on my PCs! 14.0.24215.1 14.0.23026.0 These two are OK (for Orikai.exe). And I'm not sure that the installation of "Visual C++ Redistributabl...

Re: Orikai
it seems like this issue ("The Application was Unable to Start Correctly (0xc000007b)") is very common and hits a lot of people for a lot of programs. Most of the time it comes from a DLL problem! Something you can try: - download and install Dependency Walker (http://www.dependencywalker....

Re: Orikai
@peacer : I'm sorry about the issue you're having to launch Orikai. I tested it without problem on two different machines. Both of them are running Windows 10 / 64 bits. On the second, the only thing I had to do was to install the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 (x86 - 32 bits vers...

I would like to present today a small utility on which I work since some time: Orikai orikai.png The initial and main purpose was to have a Windows tool to study (and understand) how works the Hires mode of the Oric. The first use of this utility is therefore the display of a dump of the hires memor...

Re: Upgrade Time: Encounter
I was late in the viewing of this great series. This is fixed now! Very good job Dbug (as usual). There are always a lot of things to learn! Funny to discover the DOKE and DEEK commands! I did not know them. Yet they seem to be present (or their equivalent) on many machines! Shame on me! I also miss...

Re: FastBoot/FastLoad on Pravetz 8D/Disk II
I think that the "lack" of mechanical parts of the SD floppy (no real disk rotation, no moving of the read-and-write head) tends to smooth the performances. As for the results of your mapper (btw good job!), I think the Oricutron emulation of the DISK II part explains that. Since there is ...

@iss: Yes, you're probably right. I finally understood what you meant. I'm a little slow, sorry
By using the hires memory for decoding buffer, we meet this kind of issue!
So not a bug... a feature ?
