CC65 Demo Code for 8bit-Hub

In order to make it easier for people to start developping games/code using the 8bit-Hub, I have added a folder on GitHub that contains a small demo code written in CC65. See GitHub Code: https://github.com/8bit-Dude/8bit-Hub/tree/master/CC65 See Emulation of 8bit-Hub (Firmware 0.6) in Oricutron: ht...

Announcement to 8bit-Hub users: The firmware has been updated to version 0.6, which improves the networking protocol. You will need to download the latest 8bit-Slicks disk after updating. An update of the emulator "Oricutron 1.2.0 - 8bit-Hub Firmware 0.6" is also available. This is most pr...

The physics now match those in other ports (Atari, C64...). I previously had to cut them out because other parts of the code were running too slow.

Re: 8bit-Slicks (New 2022 Version)

Here goes another new version, fresh out of the oven: http://8bit-slicks.com/?wpdmpro=oric-disk Main improvements: - DBug's revised menu graphics (not exactly the same, because game uses strict AIC attributes definition). - Volume control with 3 levels: High, Low, Off (low by default). - Improved ca...

Re: 8bit-Slicks (New 2022 Version)

Ah yes, it seems to work when using a couple of "lsr" on the A/B/C volume registers in "register_loop" of the MYM player.
I will default the music to low (so that it is possible to sneak to oric out when the family sleeps)!

Re: 8bit-Slicks (New 2022 Version)

Thanks for the heads up Dbug! Glad that your hub updated without exploding. :D Very good idea about music/sound volume. I will add an option to change volume level (including in-game). I have attached a copy of the Menu (as converted through PictOric). It will be grand if you can tweak it a little, ...

Re: Request for Help (Pixel-Level Retouching)

There is such version already: the tech demo disc! Making manual changes can be achieved as follows: In the file /projects/demos/src/demo.c: comment out all demos except DemoCharmap(). Replace the file /projects/demos/charsets/quedex-oric.png with PNG file of the AIC version showed above. Finally, r...

Re: Request for Help (Pixel-Level Retouching)

Long term, I plan to create a fully integrated IDE for 8bit-Unity, that let's people edit bitmaps/charmaps/sprites for each platform and see the results directly in the IDE. But we are talking years rather than months...
