Re: ORIC ULA on a CPLD ?
I'm still in the Design / feasibility stage of my 'Super' ORIC-1 design... but here's a basic Idea of the specification : Specification. 6502 CPU (5MHz Max) 48K SRAM 16K EPROM Graphics..CPLD givid Standard + 80x28 TEXT/Graphics, & 480 x200 Graphics possibly even 640x200 bitmapped with second CPL...

Re: ORIC ULA on a CPLD ?
It was just that I was wanting to either make my own ULA (Enhanced) using a CPLD probably EPM7512s or purchase/acquire a CPLD to act as ULA. This would then allow me to design my own homebrew ORIC-1 +

ORIC ULA on a CPLD ?
Hi.
I've heard someone is working on making a New ORIC ULA on a CPLD...?? Are these available to buy , what CPLD is used and is it true ?
Thanks

Re: Silly Survey...just for fun.
If I where to design a NEW Super ORIC it would be something like this ! 65C02 CPU (of Course) running as fast as possible 64K fast static RAM (48K used min) Fast ROM (64K +) Probably a large CPLD as Glue logic..generating video, Memory decoding, & extra functions, video modes etc. W6522 VIA AY-3-...

Re: Homebrew ORIC computer ??
Western Design Centre (Home of the 6502) : They still make loads of NEW 6502 ICs http://www.westerndesigncenter.com/wdc/ I've also seen quite a lot of NOS 6502s (from Europe, UK) on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Western-Design-Center-W65C816S6PLG-14-Microprocessor-Qty-5-Rockwell-CMD-/262280185449?h...

This is a follow on from a Hardware thread:

'Super Oric' Survey .. what do you think a New Super Oric should look like and what specification (CPU,RAM,Video Sound etc) it should have?

Re: Homebrew ORIC computer ??
I was toying with the idea of design/making my own 'Super' Oric based on a rough spec .. W65C02 CPU (possibly clocked at up-to 8MHz+) (...) All 'Pie-in-The-Sky' at the moment..but one can dream ! If you are going all the way to add so many new features, why keep a 6502 instead of say 65816 :) ? Cou...

Re: Homebrew ORIC computer ??
We should have a survey..too see what ORIC users would like in a New 'Super' ORIC...?? Probably come up with some very interesting ideas ?

Homebrew ORIC computer ??
Hi. Does anyone know if someone has built/designed a 'Homebrew' ORIC computer. I know there's normally two mindsets when it comes to recreating old computers .. One is to use NEW FPGA type technology to emulate (and usually enhance) the original machine And Two to use original (Legacy) ICs to produc...
