OK, here is a dump of both EPROMs. I dumped them with a Willem Eprommer.
Maybe it's the same ROM as the other german dump, but maybe it's another unknown ROM. We will see
BTW, I think there is good chance that this Atmos will work with the Silicebit's controller. In my opinion this is the reason for the modifications with the blue wires on the bottom side. Well, i'll definitely check out the controller with my Atmos. Maybe it works or, if not, it solves the problem ...
Hmm, ok, no problem. Then i will use the controller with my Oric-1 and maybe sometimes i'll get another Atmos
The dump of the EPROMs will come this weekend. The Willem programmer is ready, the Win98-computer too
My controller and the Amplibus arrived today :D Many Thanks to Silicebit, it's really professional built and was very well packed :) I'll check out the controller with my Oric-1 this week. I'll also check it out with my resetting Oric Atmos, maybe with the new power source directly from the connecto...
The controller can be used with Oric Atmos and Oric-1, but the Oric-1 must have ROM, not EPROMs. You can use 5.25", 3.5" and 3" disk drives, HxC, HxC slim and Gotek with HxC firmware. Ah, ok, i'll check out if my Oric-1 has a ROM. Actually i'm not at home, i'll check it out next week. Please check ...
Oops. yes. you are right
Well, i haven't looked at my Oric for a long time ( i know, what a shame ) so i totally forgot it. I hope i'll find the PSU of my "Eprom burner Win98-Laptop" so i can dump the ROMs (2 EPROMs) next weekend.
Hmm, that could be ... but the question is, what causes this problem and how can i solve it? Actually i haven't done much in the last weeks with my Oric. In june i'm at a computer meeting. One of the visitors has an oscilloscope. He is great in repairing computers, so i hope that he will find (and f...
Hmm, a micro cut could really be. I measured some main tracks, but i really should measure the voltages and some more lines. And yes, the wire mess is also really strange. Maybe a wrong mod, a broken cable or noise on the wires causes the problems. Yes, i have an EPROM programmer. But i don't know i...
Hehe, i had the same thought yesterday Well, the reset button works, when i press it the Atmos resets. When i slightly touch it nothing happens, so it should be ok. But i also think about to temporarily disabling it
Yesterday i replaced the 7905 with a new one. As expected this didn't solved the problem. The Atmos still resets after a few seconds. Hmm ... actually i'm getting out of ideas what i can do next. @Godzil: At the first sight i don't see any cut traces on the component side. I'll check it out when i o...
Well, i used a 1- and a 1,5A-PSU, both should be enough power for the Atmos. The original PSU has about 600mA, so a 500mA is a bit too weak. Both PSUs also worked perfectly with ZX Spectrums, so i think they should also work with the Atmos (of course with reversed polarity )
Ah, thanks for the explanation :) Well, so it seems that the mods on the modulator and the board are ok. Today i'll replace the 7905, but i don't think that this will solve the problems. Maybe i should replace the cables on the board mod, maybe they are really too long. Or i could connect another ca...
