Re: A problematic Oric 1

BC184C Transistors are from Pin 1 Collector-Base-Emiiter

I think you can use a BC549 instead.

Re: 7 Pin DIN PCB socket Wanted

No sadly, the Pins are laid out like below ignoring the ground pins at the front of the socket. I can find sockets with the layout reversed but not like this.

7 Pin DIN PCB socket Wanted

Hi
Has anyone got a spare DIN plug for the cassette port or a link to a seller. I cannot find a 7 Pin with the correct pin layout of 4 and 3 pins.
Cheers.

Re: Next Cumulus batch

I had a pal in France buy a Cumana interface for me and post it. Just be aware, It took a while to get here as it was quite slow getting from Poland to France. It was almost like it was made to order. It only took a few days to arrive from France when my friend posted it. It was nice to be able to u...

Re: Tap WAV files

Can I ask which Arduino device you bought off Etsy and is not very good? I bought both of mine from Duncan Edwards and they have worked fine since I bought them. I’ve just had to replace the MicroSD card reader inside one but that was me being clumsy and it wasn’t a big job. The Oric support in the ...

Re: Audio to Wav conversion

If I want to archive a cassette tape I have picked up I normally use my Ferguson 3T31 to play into my laptop recording in Mono @44.1khz. I then trim the .wav file a little then export it as a 8-bit unsigned file. Then I run wavclean and then either wav2tap or Novalight. I use Novalight on my laptop ...

Re: Audio to Wav conversion

+1 for Symoon’s Novalight software. It loads Oricium in around 17 seconds :) I normally use Tap2Wav and sometimes TapClean if the tape isn’t too good. Then try to Novalight the .wav file to speed up the loading. I normally use Audacity for all of the recording and playback, others might use differen...

Re: Cumana Disk Interface

Thanks to a friend in France I have been able to get my hands on one of these and can report that it performs as expected. I used to have a real Cumana interface back in the early 90's and it's great to be able to use Sedoric again on real hardware. So if you need a disk interface but have a floppy ...

Re: Cumana Disk Interface

To sell to customers in the U.K. from outside of the U.K. you are now required to become VAT registered with HMRC and collect the 20% VAT at point of sale rather than the buyer pay import duties when it arrives here in the U.K. It can be done if people want to, Charles Ingley in New Zealand and Ben...
