65C02 CPU

Has anyone fitted a 65C02 in and Oric. I know you can fit it in a BBC Micro and it uses less power and gives some extra instructions - but has anyone done it in an Oric?

Re: Gamebase Oric V3.0

I'm not really hardware tech minded and I only have a very rusty knowledge of 6502 assembly, I do know BASIC but very rarely use it these days. So I can't help out as much as i would like. I do have a fair bit of spare time though and what I lack in experience I could make up with enthusiasm. So if ...

Re: Re Cumlulus Build

I would be interested, but I'm a bit confused, is this part of Godzil's push to get some more Cumulus boards built or a separate project. I think £100 would be my max limit tho' if it went over that I would have to drop out. I would probably make my own case or maybe it would bodge fit a Raspberry P...

Re: Hi from Germany

Could you post a picture of the TV screen when the Atmos crashes?. Might be helpful before you open it up. My Atmos took would hang when cold/unused and after a couple of power ups it would start working, which was down to a bad capacitor which needed replacing. If the PSU is absolutely okay to use w...

Re: Video output without SCART/RGB

My year old Panasonic LED TV doesn't have a SCART socket already but they included a cable that has a Female SCART block to some type of special edge connector to connect to a AV1 port which is on the back. Maybe other manufacturers will do the same ?. So we may still be able to connect "legacy" tec...

Oric Nova 64 & Partial Disk Drive - eBay France

Hi peeps. Don't know if it's allowed but I thought I would let you know there is a Oric Nova 64 on eBay France with parts of the Disk Drive ( I think it's missing the floppy drive ) it seems to have a keyboard/ULA problem as well as some of the keys don't work. Not really after one of these myself b...

Re: Is my atmos dying?

Been away for a while so missed this. As has been pointed out earlier I had a problem with my eBay Atmos taking several cold boots before it was stable and replacing C21 fixed the problem. They are really cheap to buy ( £1ish ) and easy to fit.

Re: Cumulus replacement ?

If I needed to pay up front to enable a production run of a revised Cumulus to take place I would be prepared to do that. Not sure how everyone else feels about that though.

Re: Oricium feedback and review thread

Thanks for your nice comments guys. They are really appreciated. If there were enough players it would be nice to have some kind of contest. And maybe not only for your score, but for instance to see the first one being able to identify all the songs, and maybe spot all the references to the 80s.. ...

Re: Oric Atmos query

Well I have replaced all 3 electrolytic capacitors that are on the board. I replaced C21 first and quickly tested the Atmos and it seemed to have cured the problem it booted straight away :D :D :D However, I thought that while I have my soldering iorn in use I would change the other 2 as well then a...

Re: Oric Atmos query

A friend of my association told me that it was a bad idea to change capacitors if they are not dead. There is a good chance that the new ones that you'll install will be of a worse quality than the ones you already have and therefore you'll need to change them more often. For SMD (support mounted d...

Re: Oric Atmos query

I was thinking if I am going to replace one electrolytic capacitor I might as well replace all of them.
