Re: Cumana disk interface problem

Yes Slicebit I was taking the readings from the wrong pins they all read 4.9v

Will look at RV1 and see what I get some time. So it looks like it’s probably the power or the ROM or something else

Re: Cumana disk interface problem

Yeah, somethings not right with the PCB.I get 4.9V on most IC's but the LS244's ( IC1,IC3,IC4 ) are showing -4.4 to -4.5V and the LS93 ( IC14 ) is showing -3.9V. I have checked them with my EPROM programmer and they pass the checks on the logic gates so it's something else on the PCB causing this bu...

Cumana disk interface problem

I have built a Cumana disk interface and all the chips are in place as well as all the passives and 7905 Voltage regulator. So the interface is complete. The ROM is one that was supplied with the PCB's and is a 27c64 with the 2K Bootstrap and I have also used a 28c64B with the full 8K ROM image from...

Re: 65c22

The W65C22N is designed to be compatible with 6522, you must order the W65C22N not W65C22S. From The Western Design Center: W65C22S/W65C22N Differences The W65C22S is lower power, faster and direct drive outputs with no current limiting resistors on outputs ports. The W65C22N is plug replacement of...

Oric Signal Conditioner Mark II

My friend has been working on a project for our Oric's called a Signal Conditioner for tape based loading. It proved to be very good and was a popular little unit. Some members on here already have one and the feedback has been good. Well the news is my friend has now made a Mark II version with a p...

Re: Composite video mod?

Most people don’t bother with composite as far as I know or have seen, as Orics output a nice clean RGB signal that works really well with a TV that can take a RGB/AV input.

Re: Oric ROM wanted

I have read some details on fitting a LS00 to IC11 and cutting a track, Ideally I would rather have a real V1.1 or a V1.0 as I had fitted the Mod to stop the AY getting damaged prior to fixing the Oric. I will keep looking and asking as I will always be useful to have one.... Does the Pravetz ROM wo...

Oric ROM wanted

Does anyone have a V1.1 or V1.0 ROM they will part with?

I currently have an EPROM and won’t be able to use my Cumana interface with it due to the ROMDIS signal.

Re: 65c22

I have ordered some more 6522A’s so hopefully I will get the correct ones this time, last time they sent 6522P’s. The 65c22 was just an interesting idea to think about.

Re: 65c22

Hi, That's an interesting discussion, but I think an important point was omitted: What is the intended purpose of replacing the stock 6522 with the CMOS 65C22 version? I guess the CMOS version probably corrects bugs in the original NMOS units, but I don't remember these bugs affecting our Orics in ...

Re: Securing sources of (official) Oric chips

My Two spare ULA's arrived on Saturday so now I have Three spares so if anyone in the UK needs one at some point I would let one go for cost plus post. :D

Thanks iss that is very helpful, when it arrives I will fit this and report back on how well it performs compared to my 6522A in my Atmos. :D

Re: 65c22

Thanks Chema, the one I have coming is a Rockwell part R65c22 not the newer WDC version so I might have more success with it.
