Re: Oric-1 Repair

Yeah I’m going to have a look today at the traces and solder joints. The right shift key doesn’t work on 8,10,-,= and the left shift doesn’t work with , . And /
Going to look at the keyboard PCB as well today but I haven’t tried the Ctrl key yet.

Re: Oric AtmoStrat GX

Firstly, I am pleased the designer of this project is okay. I don’t have a lot about this project, are the Gerbers or .brd files for the PCB available for us to self build with a schematic?
It would be interesting to make one as I will probably never get the chance to own a Telestrat sadly.

Re: Oric-1 Repair

Last night's post was a bit short on detail so I will add more. So I had replaced the Logic IC's and also the 12Mhz Clock. I also replaced the three transistors and the diode on the relay just in case they were damaged as I had spares available. I burned MikeB's Diagnostic ROM and the first time I g...

Re: Securing sources of (official) Oric chips

I have bought another two for futureproofing my Oric's the new chips work fine in my repaired Oric-1 so pleased Chema pointed me in that direction.

Re: Oric-1 Repair

The 6522a I bought didn’t work diagnosed thanks to your ROM mikeb, I fitted another one and it works now With the pin 1 disconnected and pins 2 and 36 jumpered and the 65c02 and works fine. So now the Oric-1 works although the left and right shift keys do not work on all keys I can get by using alte...

Re: Oric-1 Repair

Yeah Chema, will keep at it and eventually i'll have a working Oric-1, it would have been cheaper to buy one after the amount I have spent on replacement EPROM's, CPU,VIA and RAM.
Wouldn't have been as much fun though

Re: Oric-1 Repair

Well I have all the chips in hand now and have got it living again - up to a point. I tried it with the Diagnostic ROM to test the RAM ( which passed ) and got the screen Test Cards ( both ). Then next time I power cycled I get vertical black and white bars and it stays like this each time I power c...

Up to date Oric-1/Atmos Schematic

Apologies if this has been asked before, I did search but came up empty. Does anyone have a up to date modern schematic for the Oric-1/Atmos as opposed to the one in the service manual as I find it very hard to read.

Re: Oricutron and illegal opcode 80

The BugFixed Atmos .tap and .wav files work with this Atmos both the standard and Novalight versions are fine now. So thanks to Symoon for doing that for me. :D

Re: Oricutron and illegal opcode 80

Here are some pictures of my Atmos for you to look at, the Transistor is a BC237 i think as it says C237. Looking at the 65c02 i think it was fitted later as the date code is 8813 so it's not factory fitted. https://i.ibb.co/VDCz1s7/P1010321.jpg https://i.ibb.co/fDdHqYv/P1010325.jpg https://i.ibb.co...

Re: Oricutron and illegal opcode 80

Would anyone be able to make another .tap file of Harrier Attack with the illegal Op Code amended? I have a French Atmos that seems to have a factory fitted 65c02P4 and it freezes after loading the first part of the Atmos tape file and it has been suggested that this Op Code is the cause of this. It...

Re: Oric-1 Repair

Yes it is frustrating, given how many logic chips have been damaged and the ULA and ROM don't work having tried them in my Atmos seperately I don't hold out much hope for the other IC's. That said, I picked up an old Oceanic 118n 5.25" Floppy drive to pull the 6502 and 6522's out and I have a workin...

Re: Oric-1 Repair

I think I will have to write this one off as a bad job, the ULA is toast and so is the ROM so I am not going to spend more time on this one.
