I think there might be a bit of confusion - but I'd prefer to hear the second type of case referred to as a "cassette album" rather than a case ..
I think that is for music rather than the case itself. You could get a Deep Purple album on cassette or vinyl, for example.

Re: Translation help

Don't they call the clear ones jewel cases? Maybe that is just CD cases(?) I have seen them called standard cassette case or clear standard cassette library case. https://tapeline.info/v2/clear-cassette-library-case.html The black ones are sometimes called clam shell cases. The larger ones sometimes...

Re: Rhetoric disks other than the first?

Well it seems the counter on Oric.org is broken so maybe more than I thought have downloaded the disks.

To download you need to be signed into Oric.org. Doing a search for Rhetoric on the software page should get you results.

Re: John S. Sinclair on Oric.org

Yes there was.
I couldn't find my original interview but Didier sent me the version André put in the CEO. John wrote in reply to my page which looks at different cassette versions. You can see I added a footnote. http://www.48katmos.freeuk.com/cc04.htm

Re: Rhetoric disks other than the first?

All ten Rhetoric disks are online line now. Many thanks Symoon !!! Please have a look as they contain stuff that people keep asking for. When I looked at Disk 10 no-one had downloaded it. :( There's a lot of stuff there which makes them good for Cumulus use as well as the emulator. I even fire them ...

Re: Line Feed - Oric MCP40 demo at Solskogen

Interesting articles Thierry.

I've found with some pens you can use surgical spirit to get the ink flowing again. (I can't remember whether I've tried this with MCP40 pens - but I have used it on other types of pen.)

The MCP40 pens are so small you would need a tiny amount. Might be worth a try(?)

Thanks.

I have a few Atmos MCP40s in need or a bit of repair. Never had time to check out what they need exactly.

Re: Looking for the Show Off "demo"

Jim's website has gone now. :( Here's the tape converted from a Wav file I recorded into the PC. There is a spurious line that I can't get rid of in the 60000- area. Oddly it was written for the Oric-1 but I can't get it to work on there in Oricutron. There are some Oric-1 ROM calls which I've put R...

Re: Line Feed - Oric MCP40 demo at Solskogen

If you use the sideways writing you can have an 80 column printer rather than a 40 column one :)

(One of the first Oric fan user group neswletters was one like that. )

Re: Sedoric warning "DOS is altered!"

As far as I know it wasn't released on the Beeb. I did an interview with John S Sinclair who got in touch with me via my website. Unfortunately I can't find the interview at the moment - but that's one thing I remember from it. I always thought the graphics in the first screen look like a Beeb game....

No idea, Steve. It is just that I thought that if the game called the get the key presses, it is ROM dependent?

But I might well be wrong!
I would guess it isn't ROM dependent because it was written on the BBC computer and ported across to Oric.
