Can we expect a marsh 2023 issue of Oric User Monthly :D ?
Not likely - but there was plenty of discussion (okay, nagging) by me for Dave to arrange another Aylesbury meet-up!

Re: Hello from Spain

Thanks so much for posting that link. It would be awesome to attend a retro meet over here. Re. Spanish, I took a LOAD of lessons which helped. I can 'get by' and understand the basics but working from home doesn't help me mingle with the locals. Most of the expats out here don't speak a word of Spa...

Re: Thomas Schiex

Since it was written in assembly, I'm guessing this would be an interesting project to start disassembling .. Perhaps not surprisingly, Thomas writes: "I'm afraid I completely lost it. I remember printing it for archiving, 30 years ago. But after several houses,... I'm afraid it ended in the w...

Re: Mamemeister Live Stream - C&VG 1985 Game Edition

When I also acquired an Atari 8-bit, second-hand from a friend, it was something of a case of déjà vu. Although a small percentage of brand new titles were being released on the Atari 8-bit, for the most part it was ignored - so I was still feeling 'left out'. That said, as mentioned, some main full...

Re: Mamemeister Live Stream - C&VG 1985 Game Edition

the nostalgia of scanning magazines for anything related to Oric, only to be disappointed at the sheer quantity of stuff the other machines had .. Y'know, I've thought about this quite a lot. When I was really Oric-ing and editing OUM, I was furious at software houses and magazines for neglecting t...

Re: New Spanish text adventure!!!!

I worked with Professional Adventure Writer System on the speccy in the past, but never used The Quill... are there other alternatives on the Oric? I spoke briefly with someone at Gilsoft a little while after The Quill was released on the Oric, trying to convince them how great it was and that ther...

Re: Sell me a data recorder! Price no object!

Believe it or not, I'm still not set up. Didn't bother to chase getting a tape recorder through the post during the main Covid disruptions to post delivery over here, which I think is still a bit iffy. I have made some progress though. I now have a monitor and a work desk for the Atmos. Until a tape...

Mamemeister Live Stream - C&VG 1985 Game Edition

It's a long vid at 2hr 17min but you can skip to the unexpected Oric coverage around 18 mins, 50 secs. I nearly fell out of bed (which is where I was when watching this) when the Oric popped up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCnR-8IZ0vQ I haven't yet finished watching the vid (as I mentioned, it's...
