Still two days ahead, but only expensive and not insanely expensive yet :)

Re: IDEs, text editors and extensions used for cross development?

I use Notepad++, so cannot help here. But a quick Google search came up with this https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=OlivierGuinartMSFT.Merlin32LanguageService Is that what you wanted for Visual Studio? Edit: Works for my Visual Studio Community 2015, with command completion and all...

Re: Games like Frelon

Good post Dbug! Well explained indeed. Some games made some color graphics using attributes, so you ended up with 6 pixels of the same colour, making it a bit crude and impossible to place with pixel precision. Some games hid this drawback better than others. When attributes were hid in paper colour...

Re: Oric DSK Manager

My knowledge about Sedoric is limited to launching a program, issuing a quit and then the ! Prefix, setting the INIST and (with a lot of effort) formatting disks

This kind of things I read about from time to time keep surprising me

Re: Pseudo 3D Starfield

Elite's version should do. In fact the thing is avoiding the real projection and just move stars faster when they are further from the center of the screen. Or something along that line. In 1337 I adapted the routines made by Stephen Judd and described here http://www.ffd2.com/fridge/chacking/c=hack...

Re: INSERT MASTER DISC IN DRIVE A

Mmmm I am not sure it is a good idea to patch the OSDK version of tap2dsk... A bug or suggestion should be flagged to the repository where the official versions are maintained by Fabrice Frances, don't you think?

Re: OSDK 1.11

Let's be clear on one point: Me migrating to GIT would not imply to me migrating to GITHUB or any other online GIT hosting system. As I've said numerous time: Defence-Force.org has been running for longer than half of the websites around here, it was here before GoogleCode, it was here before CodeP...

Re: OSDK 1.11

If you look at the issues, there's been a bunch of things fixed there on your request a couple years back :) I know :) Thanks! BTW, once you get some free time (and update certain web page with new versions) we have to talk about a new version of FloppyBuilder. I mean the code to access disks and s...

Re: OSDK 1.11

In a community where the majority of the most significant contributors despises modern version control techniques Well I am not even a minor contributor for the OSDK project (maybe yelling when something does not work for me, little else) but I surely don't despise modern version control. It is sim...

Re: OSDK 1.11

Hi all! I am not contributing to this debate because one main reason: I cannot manage to work with software control tools. :? It is sad, I know, because I am aware of all the benefits (which are many), but it's been a long time since I last work in a mid-size programming project, and back in the day...

Indeed, but it does not print any message such as Microsoft BASIC nor it states anywhere on the manual that the BASIC is from Microsoft. In fact the routine which was called to display the easter egg (the hidden message) was removed from the ROM, but not the message itself. In addition, the license ...

Re: Ripping cartridges

This thread is too out of my reach, but this behaviour of the RESET is something I did not get. Is it a kind of "special" reset? Because Oric's reset button (beneath the keyboard) is attached to the NMI signal of the processor, so it should work as any other IRQ with the exception that it jumps to a...
