Re: OSDK 1.9

Oh, that is what you do :) I thought you HAD to put the letters in order and as a column :) Anyway, this is what I am doing in the tile sectioning of my editor: class TileSectioner { public List<byte[]> tileSet { get; private set; } public byte[,] tileMap { get; private set; } // Constructor. Pass t...

Re: OSDK 1.9

Regarding the tiling thing, that is what I am doing in my room editor. I could provide some code in C#.... The idea is dividing the pic in 6x8 cells called tiles (that is 8 bytes) and start from one corner checking if a tile does not exist and, if that is the case, then add it to the current tile se...

Re: Is Cumulus dead?

Hello, JonB If you mean the original list for those units being mounted by metadata, yes: he is not making them anymore. He has no more free time for this (at least for now). The original version had some issues on some Orics, in which the cumulus simply did not work (and I think that could be one o...

Re: OASIS development

Yes, I like to send alpha versions to people to get some insights. I try to send it to people that are not actually going to play the game completely, or some friends not Oric-related :)

There are too many things missing and rough corners as to send it to too many people :)

Re: OASIS development

Hi again. Just a quick message to let you know I have finished the translation of the game to Spanish. Yeah, it was a loooong tedious process (many files to touch, a lot of text to translate) but as there are some Spanish people around with Orics (and without Orics!) who wanted to play the game, I t...

Re: ORIC ULA on a CPLD ?

That would be an exciting project! I really think Mike Brown had almost all the functionality analyzed, so it should be a god start.

Let us know about this project if you finally decide to go for it!

Re: ORIC ULA on a CPLD ?

I'm not aware of any direct replacement. All I am aware of is the work of Mike Brown http://oric.signal11.org.uk/html/ula1.htm and http://oric.free.fr/HARDWARE/ula.html
But there was never a final product.

Re: World Of Spectum (about magazines)

What Dbug has brought to our attention is something quite interesting, really. Maybe you know there is the so called 'digital testament' or 'will'. This could be a formal or informal way of passing all your digital identities to someone in the case it is needed. This serves the purpose of having som...

Re: World Of Spectum (about magazines)

Hi Symoon. I've also heard about the trouble with WOS. There is a huge controversy around this issue; while the new person (people in charge) state they are making a huge work for upgrading the site and installing new technologies and it is taking time to put everything back online and tweak all the...

Re: OASIS development

I changed the code to use the BUSY flag and also corrected some other small things and tested on a real Oric. Everything seems to work fine. My disks or my floppy drive seems to have a few errors reading data (you hear the motor trrrrrr sound from time to time). One thing I tested was creating a dis...

Re: OASIS development

About the BUSY signal, yes. That was the one I was going to poll, but then I thought 'the READY input is flagged by the floppy drive when it's ready to receive a new command, so maybe it is also valid here'. As all it takes is a bmi to test... and it worked! But I do think that the BUSY bit (s0) sho...
