Re: oric atmos boot stuck at AA pattern

"Powering up (initialization) faults If after powering up, the screen is covered with black horizontal bars or random patterns, this indicates that the contents of the ROM (language interpreter and operating system) have not been correctly loaded into DRAM." I would really want more details on this...

Re: JOric

I don't know why I did not notice the first part of your previous answer. Sorry. Yes I am quite a fan of adventure games, both graphic and text :) It is nice to see that you are also interested in how they were programmed, because that search was what set me into creating my engine :D Back to this i...

Re: JOric

Nice! Quite a lot of advances! Congrats. It is exciting to see new emulators. I hope you are enjoying Blake's 7. People spending time playing my games means all to me. Don't heaitate to post any question, comment, bug or suggestion. Regarding Space 1999, can you be more specific? Does it hang in the...

Re: Microdisc connectors

Hehe thanks for clarifying everything iss! Yes, as I suspected after reading the manual the original Microdisc did not power the Oric though the expansion port. Wonder why not. I guess Silicebit just made the clone, then realized it could be possible so he added the jumper, just in case there was so...

Re: oric atmos boot stuck at AA pattern

To me that looks as when the memory is filled for testing just before booting, but I am not sure.

Did you check the memories to see if any chip gets too hot?

The noise and ""click" from relay" when starting is something strange... that does not happen in my Oric.

Re: Microdisc connectors

+1 to what Laurent said. I don't know about any 3" disk which does not need 12V. Some old 3.5" disks also need 12V for the motor, but only really old ones. The controller could power the Oric through the expansion bus... Not sure if the original did this, but if it did it is much better as your Oric...

Just wanted to pop in to express how impressed I am with your work!

When I saw the video I could hardly believe it was loading Xenon1 so quickly... Unbelievable! And now even faster.

Re: FloppyBuilder evolution

Imo, it's mostly for the greater good: Be able to release a system that pretty much work on any Oric system around there. Not specifically for Blake's 7 in particular :) It just happens you have the most advanced piece of software ever made on the machine, so it's a nice test bench :) Ha ha, okay, ...

Re: Upgrade Time: Encounter

hehe, I tried to practice a lot, and still suck at it :) Regarding sharing the sources of editor and compiler, you are totally right. If I did not do it yet it is simply because the source code is horrible (uncommented, ugly, full of kludges, a total disaster...) and because I am using Visual Studio...

Re: Upgrade Time: Encounter

 Impressive work Dbug. Could not yet view all the videos in detail, but your abilities as an artist are incredible... It took me hours to make only the first ugly version of a room in Blake's 7... How I envy you artists! This remembers me that I have to share the code of my room editor,...
