Re: Clock problems

Hi. Wait until an expert hardware answers this, but let me point out that I made some tests with an oscilloscope when I got my Microdisc clone (Silicebit's) and I notice something very similar: a strange peak on phi2 that appeared sometimes. In my case I think it was when the board read the floppy d...

Patience :) I'm almost there... :)

But to help you deal with the anticipation, let's share a pic of the 12th room for this episode. What about entering a detention block?

Re: Space:1999 feedback and review thread

Indeed... And Gareth Thomas (main character in Blake's 7) also passed away this year.... I am tempted to stop making games based on old TV series or movies

Re: Development of Blake's 7 (was OASIS development)

Hi guys! Just a quick note to let you know that the game is progressing quite well. I have already put in 11 screens for Episode III, and I will still add a couple more at least. About 50% of the episode's story and puzzles are already in the game, and the plot is almost finished. I am not sure what...

Re: How to install a 3" floppy drive on a modern pc?

Thanks laurentd75 and iss. My current configuration with Win98/WriteDSK works for now, and I only make floppies from time to time. Going through an extra step using HFE images is even worse :) It is just that I did not know anybody was working on this... and being ours a small community, I was quite...

Re: How to install a 3" floppy drive on a modern pc?

using the fdrawcmd.sys driver by Simon O., and the OricDSK.exe Windows utility by Michel B. (both were featured in the 2016 December issue [#320] of the CEO Magazine). One sec.... what did you say? Is there a *Windows* utility that writes Oric dsk files? I've been struggling with DOS writedsk and h...

Re: Cumulus Firware Compilation

Great!

Please iss, put the file in the repository... clearly having the binay files in addition to the sources looks like a good idea!

Re: Cumulus Firware Compilation

Okay, I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to help. If only metadata read this... He had similar problems, as you already read in the forum. Iss provided a modded code that printed error messages (check this post http://forum.defence-force.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=658&start=120#p9409). But metadata wa...

Re: Cumulus Firware Compilation

Hi zaxxon! Glad to see you finals built some cumulus :) I worked a bit on the firmware and it was really picky with the card used and the way it is was formatted. The boot loader uses the same code, so maybe the problem lies there. The card should be SDHC, modern fast cards don't work IIRC, and it s...

Re: Development of Blake's 7 (was OASIS development)

Yes, Symoon. This idea comes up from time to time :) but I am quite reluctant to implement it. In Lucas games, and in this one too, you do not direct the character. You tell him to walk to a point (or to perform any other action) and it moves there automatically, finding the proper path to reach its...

Re: Development of Blake's 7 (was OASIS development)

Thanks Laurent! I am glad you liked it! Don't worry, the cave screen is already in :) About the shortcut thing, it is more difficult to explain than to use. When you hover the cursor over an object, the name appears on the screen. Usually that is what you do when entering a new room, you move the cu...

Re: Development of Blake's 7 (was OASIS development)

A small update. While including the new rooms and working out the puzzles for the last episode, I decided to follow the advice given to me at the latest retro event we had in the north of Spain. It was something already mentioned by Dbug too, so I guess it was worth the effort. I hacked in the code ...

Re: Sedoric warning "DOS is altered!"

No idea, Steve. It is just that I thought that if the game called the get the key presses, it is ROM dependent?

But I might well be wrong!
