Re: Oric 1 display in North America

I see. Anyway I think there are rgb scart to rca composite adapters. i recall seeing some on eBay, though I'm not sure how they work. Edit: it seems I was wrong. They are the other way round. Circuits for encoding rgb signals to composite do exist, but nothing seems to be easy to use. And not cheap ...

Re: Atmoses, Microdiscs and Telestrats on ebay

Hahaha... Prices are mad, as usual... the Telestrat does not even work! And the Microdisc is probably a slave unit. And those CP/M disks... Probably they are from an Amstrad computer and were re-used for this Oric or something... Or someone was thinking about building an external device ...

Re: Orix update thread

This is looking better and better :)

What an impressive work you are doing, Jede!!!

I am not a fan of the Telestrat, but certainly you are making it interesting to say the least!

Re: Oric 1 display in North America

Hi!

Doesn't your TV have an RCA input?

SCART and RCA are basically the same thing... http://retrocables.es/tienda/index.php? ... &id_lang=4

Re: Photocopies

A scan to pdf should be enough. No OCR is needed, in my opinion. B&W scans with fair resolution (unless a page has some images in it) should be OK. There are many apps for scanning, but you need a smartphone with a camera. Some are free, some are not. I have iScanner in my iPad and now Office Lens (...

Re: Photocopies

It is a pity to have this kind of material and not being able to scan it. It may end up damaged or lost. I have a photocopy machine at work which can do the scanning and converting to PDF from a (big) set of sheets, but for books.... that is another story. One can use a smartphone or tablet, there a...

Yes, please, put them online :)

It'd be interesting to check if there are differences with Steve's.

Re: OSDK 1.9

Oh, that is what you do :) I thought you HAD to put the letters in order and as a column :) Anyway, this is what I am doing in the tile sectioning of my editor: class TileSectioner { public List<byte[]> tileSet { get; private set; } public byte[,] tileMap { get; private set; } // Constructor. Pass t...

Re: OSDK 1.9

Regarding the tiling thing, that is what I am doing in my room editor. I could provide some code in C#.... The idea is dividing the pic in 6x8 cells called tiles (that is 8 bytes) and start from one corner checking if a tile does not exist and, if that is the case, then add it to the current tile se...

Re: Is Cumulus dead?

Hello, JonB If you mean the original list for those units being mounted by metadata, yes: he is not making them anymore. He has no more free time for this (at least for now). The original version had some issues on some Orics, in which the cumulus simply did not work (and I think that could be one o...

Re: OASIS development

Yes, I like to send alpha versions to people to get some insights. I try to send it to people that are not actually going to play the game completely, or some friends not Oric-related :)

There are too many things missing and rough corners as to send it to too many people :)

Re: OASIS development

Hi again. Just a quick message to let you know I have finished the translation of the game to Spanish. Yeah, it was a loooong tedious process (many files to touch, a lot of text to translate) but as there are some Spanish people around with Orics (and without Orics!) who wanted to play the game, I t...

Re: ORIC ULA on a CPLD ?

That would be an exciting project! I really think Mike Brown had almost all the functionality analyzed, so it should be a god start.

Let us know about this project if you finally decide to go for it!
