Re: Blake's 7 feedback and review thread

Not "Small break" = "being idle for months", but "Small break" = "Rest a bit from programming until I find a new idea or challenge for a new game" I always take a small break between games. But there is something that I have to do: work with DBug in the new version of the disk routines for Flo...

Re: Blake's 7 feedback and review thread

Thanks for your kind words. I am glad that you liked the game, and to hear about others who also watched the series back then!

I am now going to take a small break, because I just don't know what I'll do next :)

Re: Blake's 7 feedback and review thread

Yeah, it is great to see the Oric in today's magazines... when it was missing from them in its time :)

Re: Blake's 7 feedback and review thread

I have no idea about the section (which should be Homebrew), but I can assure the review exists. This pic was posted in the Spectrum4Ever Facebook Group.

The author of the post stated he thought it was a Spectrum game, but alas... no. It was on the Oric :)

Re: Blake's 7 feedback and review thread

Apparently the game was reviewed in the latest issue of Retro Gamer, and, looking a the partial pic that was posted in a speccy group in Facebook, it was given Sizzler status.

If anyone can get me a copy (a picture of the review, that is) for my records I'd appreciate it!

Re: Merging video output?

I thought about something much simpler, three Orics, each connected to an RGB component. Displaying b/w pics which is very easy, you can have 8 colors with no color clash at all. You mean: http://forum.defence-force.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1771&sid=40acb8330caa8058fdee9bb12ba68542&start=30#p16669 ?...

Re: Merging video output?

Looks smart! I thought about something much simpler, three Orics, each connected to an RGB component. Displaying b/w pics which is very easy, you can have 8 colors with no color clash at all. The fourth one could serve to produce two levels of brightness, so 16 colors and very easy to manage. Even w...

Re: Merging video output?

Nice!

It looks a bit like a Camputer Lynx, with bitplanes...

You can certainly get a good number of colors with little attribute clash.

Re: Server hiccups/lag/not responding

Did not happen lately. I will let you know if this changes. Another, most probably unrelated, thing I notice with my iPad and Safari is that I get disconnected from the forums (another one first, and this when we upgraded to the new version of phpBB) and have to login agin from time to time. But tha...

Re: Server hiccups/lag/not responding

In fact I did had some of these lately, but cannot tell from when. I experienced similar lags on another forum and I changed network operator lately because my connection was giving me problems. I thought those lags and errors were caused by a combination of my connection and some kind do problem wi...
