Nice info about Telestrat and Microdisc connectors:
(...)
So, the hand-written notes on your pictures are confirmed. :)
That's borderline criminal...
I wonder how many telestrats and microdiscs got destroyed because of that, why did they use the same connector???

Re: OricExos - making the impossible

Awesome :)

So, two questions:
- What did you finally came up with for the soundchips: Mono, Stereo (and if Stereo, how is it split?)
- What are the video mixing algorithms you have implemented

So basically I can start thinking about what I can do :D

Re: Microdisc connectors

I'm actually having the same (similar) issue. I do have have a Master Microdisc, a Slave Microdisc, and a HxC floppy emulator. My old Oric Microdisc PSU is scary, heavy, and doing some zzzzzzzzz noise, so I'd like to replace by something modern and compact that could power up to 4 drives, and the Or...

Re: A new well-known compiler

I will not answer to all the comments, but I want to start by two things: - I don't think Opt65 has anything to do with CC65, it's something written by a C64 guy many years ago, that's why it's old style C. And yes, if we could get that thing to work (and play nice with auto-modified code, etc...) i...

Re: IOUG

I guess the options are to blur such information - how big a job would that be? I guess there are two issues: - This require some PDF editing tool with the ability to modify / clear the content. - One need to know what exactly should be moved: If we speak of phone numbers and addresses, only for in...

Re: OSDK bugs

By the way, are there now light weight bug/issue tracking systems which could be used for the OSDK? I agree that a full fledged system would be overkill but on the other hand, having to send emails instead of going to a well know web page with proper editing/linking/referencing tools also reduces m...

Re: IOUG

I have IOUG #1 to #23, plus a supplement issue with programs. The main issue was that there are some small announces in the magazines, with people selling or buying stuff, with their names and addresses. The question is to know if that's actually a problem, considering that technically that was publ...

Re: Oric-1 RGB to SCART - pin 8?

Does the schematic split the Horizontal and Vertical parts of the signal?
Maybe the screen is confused because the Sync pin contains both the HSync and VSync signals?

Re: TapOric - android TAP player for Oric

You know that many mobile phones are neither "mono" or "stereo" but have at least 4 connectors, so they can have microphone and remote?

You can find some cable adapters that convert mobile jacks to standard stereo, I used that with one of my headsets which did not work on my android device.

Re: Oric Speech Synthesizer + Cumulus/Microdisk

Damn, if they are so easy to interface on the printer port, why the heck did they decide to built the two I had on the main expansion bus?

I see that Jede had fun with the VTR/Mageco:

Could probably ask if his is on the parallel port or expansion bus

Re: Oric Speech Synthesizer + Cumulus/Microdisk

Annoyingly I seem to only find white or green connectors.
I want black ones to go with my black flat cable :p

Look is important!

Re: Oric Speech Synthesizer + Cumulus/Microdisk

Yes, typo indeed. That being said, I opened both boxes, and I can confirm that my TechniMusic had a MEA8000 and spoke without a British accent. I recorded this demo song with it some years ago: http://defence-force.org/download/clair_de_la_lune.mp3 And this Mageco, with French manual and in a French...

Oric Speech Synthesizer + Cumulus/Microdisk

A few years ago, I had a TechniMusic speech synthesizer (the MEA8000 based one, that speaks with a French accent), which unfortunately did not do any advanced address decoding, so it was pretty much impossible to use with any other hardware... like for example a Microdisc or Cumulus. periphoric.jpg ...

Re: OSDK feature request - add OSDKMACHINE env variable to set target machine for execution

I added issues #30 and #31 on the OSDK page: http://www.osdk.org/index.php?page=issues It's a well known issue, been discussed with Jede when he was working on his Orix Telestrat project. Basically, there are multiple approaches, they all take time, and they all have drawbacks: - Compile time select...
