Re: OricExos - making the impossible

I'm honestly not fond of Aquavit, but I don't like strong alcohol as a rule, so nothing specific for the Norwegian liquor :)

Re: Competition CEO: New Year 2019

The approach I took was to make something "demo-ish" that could eventually be made into a game, assuming I've time.

I'm probably not going to have the time to make it a game, but I'll release the demoish thing :)

Server upgrade

Hi, I just did the upgrade from Ubuntu 16.04 LTS to Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS, hopefully everything is working, but there was some conflicts on apache, php and svn files, so maybe some stuff got broken. Please signal anything that does not work as expected. Thanks! EDIT: List of things that had to be fixed...

Re: OricExos - making the impossible

I cannot imagine what could happen if mine one day breaks down. Imo, if your oric break downs, all you have to do is to ask here, and I'm sure you'll get half a dozen offers, either from people on the forum, or the CEO. Regarding making clones, sure, that would be nice for the development, it could...

Re: OricExos - making the impossible

I probably need to add some "jaw dropped" smiley :) For the sound, I guess that's the usual problem that joystick interfaces on parallel port had? Regarding the video connectivity, is it going to be RGB, or some form of composite video signal? Since there are no emulator for this machine, we'll have...

Re: Port Crazee Rider?

Looks really nice 👍. I wish you had put the vid through ffmpeg before uploading, though. Well, it's just for quick demos, does not matter if it looks bad, it's just a prototype. For people interested in the topic, there are some interesting articles about old racing games and how roads were made: h...

Re: Port Crazee Rider?

Well, if you look at the picture: - I draw only half of the lines, the other ones are totally black - The green on the side is green paper attribute - the yellow and red is just some ink attribute change - the road itself is just normal ink In the current code, the entire animation takes 19303 cycle...

Re: Port Crazee Rider?

Actually:

Still not perfect, the code is ugly, there are bugs, still a lot of C, etc... but at least now we don't need turbo boost on the emulator :D

Re: Upgrade Time: Encounter

Have I missed something on the progress of the upgrade of Encounter , the last post was in August , has it been finished ,the graphics included improved it beyond recognition but I can't see any finished game anywhere ? I explained on this blog post: http://blog.defence-force.org/index.php?page=art...

Re: Port Crazee Rider?

I guess one of these days I'll have to finish convert to assembler my old C prototype:

Re: OSDK 1.13

Any reason why you want to use Euphoric instead of Oricutron?
Both are present in the OSDK, the default behavior is to call Oricutron mostly because it's the most practical to use on a modern machine.

Re: OSDK 1.13

The OSDK is not DOS compliant because it is WIN32 applications, they run fine on 32 bit and 64 bit Windows, as well as in Linux using Wine. Why do you want to use DosBox? The main reason for having switched the main emulator of the OSDK from Euphoric to Oricutron was that Euphoric was not running on...

Re: Port Crazee Rider?

Well, you could disassemble the game, or trace the code in Oricutron's debugger :)
