Re: OricExos - making the impossible

That's getting seriously impressive :)

16 shades per color, that's actually a large palette than what the Atari STf can do :)

Re: Oricutron and illegal opcode 80

Version numbers and build version can be related, but when you have multiple platforms, multiple ports, multiple people making the versions, it makes it hard to compare. Basically with an actual version number you can compare across versions, and they "Well, the support for 65C816/Exos/Illegal Opcod...

Re: Universal tracker

So apparently xpmck is a compiler for MML musics? I've actually never heard of MML before, I'm not quite sure what it is :D (Regarding a native 6502 player for YM/AY chips, any work done could probably also be helping the other 8Bit guy, the one building the Commander X16, which apparently will use ...

Re: CC65 to DSK

Well, looks like you'll manage to achieve what the Project X team failed to do :)

As often said, too many cooks spoil the broth. Good luck!

Re: Oricutron and illegal opcode 80

I know I'm going to feel annoying like a scratched vinyl, scratched vinyl, scratched vinyl, scratched vinyl... but I really, really, really want the people working on Oricutron to come up with a scheme for version number and change list. It's specially important for when reporting bugs and asking fo...

Re: Server upgrade

I noticed that a long time ago, I think it's just phpbb being buggy, I've seen that on other php boards.
Maybe there's a fix for it, but basically when I use pictures I don't use preview...

Re: OSDK 1.14 RC

New weekend, new version: http://www.osdk.org/files/osdk_1_14_rc3.zip This RC3 fixes (hopefully): - Two bugs happening only in -O0 mode, causes by incorrect macros (with a special thanks from Fabrice saying "Please thank Neko, he is the only one doing his tests in -O0 so that's why he finds all thes...

Re: OricExos - making the impossible

Actually, this is what I'm doing now - thinking is it worth to make a "non linear amplifier" for the real machine. The idea is (speaking only(!) for 'direct' mix mode which is the default after boot) to rise the brightness of lower values so the image is more visible like this: It's a difficult cho...

Re: Oric logo and trademark

I did some tests for the logo: I started with a 1200 dpi scan of the large logo I had on my Tansoft box: http://defence-force.org/download/oric/OricLogoScan1200dpiRaw.png from that scan, I did some cleanup and shaping, which resulted into that: http://defence-force.org/download/oric/OricLogoScan1200...

Re: Universal tracker

I second that! a C player would be easy to improve once it has been compiled to 6502 assembly language. Out of curiosity, just how big is this Z80 player? Does it badly require instructions specific to the Z80? It's not that big, basically you have a simple header that defines how many YM chips the...

Re: Universal tracker

That's too bad, but I understand! Maybe another 6502 coder can convert one of the Z80 player? I can of course help about how the player works (plus, their formats are fully documented), but I know nothing of 6502... Something which really could help (on all platforms), would be to have a fully docu...

Re: Oric logo and trademark

About recreating the logo, Dbug, I already made an effort and the result is here http://forum.defence-force.org/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=1172&hilit=Oric+logo&start=15#p11961 It is the closest to the original that I could manage, but any improvement would be great! Yours is not bad, but it was made from...

Re: OricExos - making the impossible

I downloaded the emulator and played a bit with your demos. Two things I'm wondering about: - It looks like the hard reset (F4) does not reset the three slave machines, so you get some fancy multiprocessing happening with the tesseract demo continuing to move in the background, overlaid on whatever ...

Re: A possible software alternative to Vsync?

If somebody can come up with a clean, minimal example, I guess we could add it to the Sample folder of the OSDK.
Basically a reference implementation of the Software VSync
