And for the ones who wonder what the game looks like in action:

(Thought it would be a good idea to remember him by showing his unfinished games).

Re: Upgrade Time: Encounter

I've been thinking about it, just not sure about how to do it. Some games were showing items in some small squares overlaid on the pictures, which has the advantage of working everywhere. The main issue with actual objects in the scene, is that it's like the dog: It could possibly only be done on th...

Here is the new episode:

Some new graphics (We now know what the house looks like!), as well as the saving of scores with their associated names and victory conditions.

Re: HIRES ghost line ?

That's actually a very good question.

I've not tested, but I would assume that these 40 bytes are free to use, like the bytes from BFE0 to BFFF :)

Re: Horizontal HIRES and Text scrolling code needed.

Based on your description, the easiest would be to scroll vertically, maybe something like barrel rolls, like the old style dispensing machine in gas stations: You can easily smooth scroll vertically at full speed, without much memory overhead, something that is hardly doable horizontally. That woul...

Re: Games like Frelon

So, just so everybody knows what we are talking about: The game is definitely in HIRES has the green and white ground shows, so the few tricks I can see: FrelonZoomed.png - The CYAN bridge is bordered by two WHITE columns, which are most pro...

Re: Horizontal HIRES and Text scrolling code needed.

Does it has to be HIRES? If you can afford to have a repeating pattern, you can do some fancy things, like the wobble effect in Barbitoric which is 100% TEXT mode. http://defence-force.org/pages/demos/barbitoric/pics/barbitoric_6.gif Also using TEXT mode you can use double size characters, which hal...

Re: Oric DSK Manager

And yeah, my copy of the SEDORIC manual is definitely getting dog-eared at the moment .. all the commands I should know, feel I should be an expert on, but in actuality I have no clue about. Do you have an actual english version of the manual? On the library I only have the French version (and not ...

Re: Spam and Inactive users

You're welcome :)

I'm trying my best to make/keep the whole DF thing in the way I would like many places to be, with a reasonably good signal/noise ratio, no name calling and community fight, free sharing of information, etc... I admit that sometimes I lose my cool on some topic, but I'm trying :)

Spam and Inactive users

Thanks to the manual registration, the forum has avoided a massive wave of spam, since Saturday morning about 150 accounts have been created but they stayed inactive. What I did is that I changed the "captcha" question on the registration page, and I mass deleted all the inactive users. What that me...

Re: INSERT MASTER DISC IN DRIVE A

Sorry, I was gone for the week-end (family celebration thingy), I'll take a look later. I did try to patch the .h already a few days ago, but it did not work, I guess I fumbled when I did it. For reference my version looked like that: Line 265: 0x49,0x4E,0x53,0x45,0x52,0x54,0x20,0x4D,0x73,0x74,0x20,...

Re: Oric DSK Manager

Do you think that loading the three patch files one after the other, instead of as a merged one, would still work fine?
