Re: Upgrade Time: Encounter

I committed the code change for Bas2Tap 1.2, it now can correctly convert the previous episode's source code.
The binary is in the SVN repository:

Re: POP source code found (Prince of Princia)

Imo, the way to go is to do what Jonathan and Chema have done: They more than ported games, they also extended them, and made them more playable than the originals. (case in point, I never managed to finish Stormlord or Impossible Mission on the Atari ST, I did manage to finish the Oric versions)

Multiple IF THEN ELSE on the same line?

While working on Encounter, I realized that the length of the program was more or less caused by many situations needed to do tests involving three possible combinations: - If A and B then do something - If A and C then do something else - Do something else A concrete example: 11370 IF (S$="TWI" )AN...

Re: POP source code found (Prince of Princia)

The biggest technical hurdle on all these projects is generally the conversion of graphics so they work on the 6 pixel wide matrix. Many games used animation sequences hardwired on multiple of 8, with gameplay tweaked so things happen on multiple of movements... and it must be particularly complex i...

Re: OSDK 1.1 Link65.exe weird syntax error

One thing I can think of, is that for some reason the carriage return on some of the files got modified, like the macros or lib files, and that upsets one of the parsers which ends up generating incorrect code... but since we have people routinely using the OSDK files with linux and windows, I can't...

Re: OSDK 1.1 Link65.exe weird syntax error

There is no such thing as "accidental submission".
A developer that does not systematically diff every single file of the change list, and make sure the commit message matches the content, before pushing the submit button, does not deserve the status of developer :)

Re: VirtualBasic and Oric

You can get the program here: http://miniserve.defence-force.org/svn/public/pc/tools/osdk/main/Osdk/_final_/Bin/Labels2Num.exe And (because I forgot to remove it) here is an example program that uses a compatible syntax: http://miniserve.defence-force.org/svn/public/pc/tools/osdk/main/Osdk/_final_/s...

Re: VirtualBasic and Oric

With ORIC we have no choice it's BASIC or ASM, so for me it's BASIC of course :D And C, and Forth and LOGO, and probably a bunch of other languages ;) This virtual BASIC seems really easy to use, without numbers of line you change our life  do you think it's possible to use BAS2TAP from th...

Re: Twilighte's IM music

In the audio department, there are things that work on some Oric and not some other, mostly related to a specific feature of the VIA. At the end of of Quintessential there is a black and white scroller with noise effect, it has some sample sound playing at the same time, but it does not work on all ...

Re: OSDK 1.1 Link65.exe weird syntax error

The content of "_final_" does not have to be on SVN, but I found it practical as a way to be 100% transparent and replicable, it's indeed what I zip (after removing the build folders and the content of TMP of course) to make the official releases. I would not do that for an Unreal engine project, bu...
