Re: Space:1999 feedback and review thread

(Btw I'm fascinated by the number of new games you build on the Oric. I'd neved had patience to do one in full asm for the thomsons. Congrats!) You don't have to do a full assembler game, it's perfectly doable to do the core in C, and use assembler only for the critical parts (like for example the ...

Re: Cumulus Firware Compilation

An eprom is an eprom, people could replace their Microdisc eprom as well :)

Re: Cumulus Firware Compilation

All I mean is that this eprom is far from being a core part of the product, and in case of legal troubles looming, it would probably take a week to get a replacement one, and we could even use the additional room for adding stuff like a standard file loading library :p

Re: Cumulus Firware Compilation

The EEPROM contain only the microdisk ROM and nothing else. (which is on a legal point a view quite problematic to be honest) It would probably be possible to replace the EEPROM by our own code. As far as I remember, 90% of it is unused code from the first DOS, all the EEPROM does is to basically l...

Re: Mused : How it works ?

If somebody figures out how mused works, what would be ideal is to get a youtube tutorial showing how it works. From experience, we know that all Twilighte's tools can achieve wonder (after all his games and demos are proofs of that), but it was tailor made tools for himself, and that make them hard...

Re: Line Feed - Oric MCP40 demo at Solskogen

I got the small replacement plastic gears and the pens from http://www.best-electronics-ca.com It's a very manual process (it's basically a one man shop) but they can be trusted :) Tusen takk for your E-Mail dated 06-12-16 Mickael. Q. I recently bought an Oric MCP-40 printer, which happens to be mor...

Re: Orix playing a video on real hardware

Nice :)
From what I see, it seems you converted each frame individually using libpipi algorithm?
Are they compressed, or is that full 8KB hires pictures for each frame loaded in realtime?

Nice :)

I'm glad to see a game that has music and also actually implements the auto-vsync thing and page flipping :)

Well done!

Re: OASIS development

Magenta is a problematic color, generally speaking, I've seen it both very bright and very dark depending of screens. For texts displayed over BLACK, I think it's a good idea to avoid BLUE and MAGENTA, and RED sometimes appear very dark brownish when on old CRT screens over the antenna connector. ED...
