Re: Compatible transister ?

I don't have an oric by hand, which transistor is this one?

I mean where is it located?

Is it TR2? (keyboard related one)

Re: 65C02 CPU

I think it depends from where you 65C02 come from, the PIN differ a bit between manufacturer :/

Re: Transformer/ power supply

Then look again at the track. You will need a bridge rectifier for BOTH regulator, not just one, a 78xx need a DC input not an AC. And here the 7805 is directly fed by one side of the transformer which is AC voltage, that is absolutely not the way to do thing. So here is the schematic of the thing: ...

Re: Transformer/ power supply

Ok I don't have the thing in my hands so my intepretation maybe incorrect, it seems the transformer have two output, but what the heck are they feeding the 7805 with a non DC voltage? I will try to make a schematic from that power supply, but can't clearly see the track on the "bottom" side of your ...

Re: Transformer/ power supply

With your multimeter in Ohm mode, with the system unpluged from main (important) what is the resistance on the +5V rail? For a 7805 to not regulate correctly to 5V and drop that low that mean that either something draw a lot of current on the 5V rail (like a failed component) the other reason is tha...

Re: Oric Atmos resets after a few seconds ... when not grounded

/me having a look at the ROM So, I'm attaching the concatenated file (which work in Oricutron) : Oric_German.rom.zip The CRC32 is 242799D0 and SHA1 is 101ec597c09c5c387132b0bc477965bcf23412d4 So this ROM report itself as 1.1, but the keyboard is clearly a QWERTZ (pressing Y tape a Z and vice-versa) ...

Re: Transformer/ power supply

If the interface is up, that probably mean it is the 12V which is dead (and the 5V is working fine and dandy) So that only leave the 7812 so unless the 25V 2200uf have miserably failed and make a shortcut (which is possible) it is the likely culprit. I would do a single shortcut check with a multime...

Re: ORIC ULA on a CPLD ?

As far as I can say, in the UK legaly nobody own the name and IP of the Oric as they have expired. I think it is the same in france, and I'm honestly not sure that the french company really own anything apart from just the hardware. (the story about all of that is really fishy) if anyone here have g...

Re: Next Cumulus batch

Hello everyone, Just a quick recap on the Cumulus Rev2 project. It is not dead, at all! I've just been unable to work on it for personal problems. (a bit to private to discuss about that here, but don't worry I'm fine) The hardware is defined for the first set of prototype, the one that will allow m...

Re: Oric Atmos resets after a few seconds ... when not grounded

The blue wires are mostly (and weirdly connected) to use IC11 to buffer Phi2, the use of wire like this will not really improve the signal quality in the end but yet. I don't remember, btu there were one wire that was strange for me and didn't get it's reason to be there, problem I haven't documente...

Re: Oric Atmos resets after a few seconds ... when not grounded

Oh yes I do remember theses ROMs, but theses ROM are way more recent than the Oric production, where does that german keyboard come from? Custom made? What I can say is that IC11 and the two ROM socket was probably soldered at the same time as the rest of the computer, so even if it is an issue 4 it...

Re: ORIC ULA on a CPLD ?

The ULA is a fairly simple system, even if it looks complex, even the smallest CPLD should be enough to fit the complete ULA. The ULA was made with technologies from the 80s where PLD wasn't there yet and PAL was just at their infancies. ULA is a similar concept than a PAL/PLD, but instead of using ...

Re: Is Cumulus dead?

The Cumulus Rev2 is not dead, I'm just lacking time and money to work on it right now, and as Chema says as the original one proved to be unreliable, it is a redesign, the Rev1 will be hard as it is to update to correct the flaws. So please either buy a microdisc replica with a floppy emulator like ...
