Re: CC65 to DSK

Looks nice!
Same here about the controls, on the 1st attempt I thought I couldn't accelerate ;)

One of my lap wasn't counted, I suspect I drove too much off-track at some point.

Re: Novalight - very fast tape loading

One of the ideas might be, instead of a dictionary for a whole program only, to use a part of the dictionary for a sub-disctionary for each page loaded. For instance a 6-bytes long dictionary, that would be loaded after each page crossing in memory, and specific to the next page. If you take the 1st...

Re: Novalight - very fast tape loading

Ouch, having LOADS of new optimization ideas... If things work as I hope (no gaurantee), it might save about 18 bytes, extend the dictionary from 18 to 21 bytes, and save time on repeats.

Re: "Autoroute" by Peter Shaw

Hey thanks a lot Dave :D
I guess that's why I didn't spot "M4" in the book - only had a very limiited time to search (the train wouldn't wait for me!) and I was hoping to find "highway" or someting like that.
I guess M4 stands for "Motorway", a word I'm never using thus had almost forgotten.

Re: Novalight - very fast tape loading

1st successful loading with Novalight 1.3! Oricium now loads in 15.3 seconds (instead of 16.3 with Novalight 1.2). Some options are still broken and need to be fixed, and testing on a single file is not enough, so I'm being carfeul with the "happy register" so far. But I'm glad it finally wor...

Re: "Autoroute" by Peter Shaw

Yep, he did! Some (all?) are listed here: http://www.defence-force.org/computing/oric/library/lib_coding_basic/index.htm I checked (quickly!) in "Games for your Oric", but couldn't find anything that looked like "Autoroute". I don't own "More games for your Oric", so it might be in there. Or maybe a...

Re: Oricutron and illegal opcode 80

The BugFixed Atmos .tap and .wav files work with this Atmos both the standard and Novalight versions are fine now. So thanks to Symoon for doing that for me. :D You're welcome, glad it works! Thanks for the feedback. Fascinating concentration of little sotires here: bug on an original game, hidden ...

Re: Oricutron and illegal opcode 80

Would anyone be able to make another .tap file of Harrier Attack with the illegal Op Code amended? I have a French Atmos that seems to have a factory fitted 65c02P4 and it freezes after loading the first part of the Atmos tape file and it has been suggested that this Op Code is the cause of this. I...

"Autoroute" by Peter Shaw

Hi, I've just discovered a French listing on a tape, called Autoroute. I wondered where it came from, and it appears the CEO-Mag published this listing (issue #216, in April 2008), also called "Autoroute" , credited to Peter Shaw . I'm wondering where it was originally published, and under which nam...

Re: Oricutron and illegal opcode 80

This is really strange how $8D become exactly $09... Oric-world full of secrets and mystery :D! Since the tape signal is not faulty here (same on all recordings), and since $8D and $09 a far one from another binary speaking, my guess would be: mistake while programming the Atmos version! (just a gu...

Re: Oricutron and illegal opcode 80

I noticed something strange in the 1st part of Harrier Attack (loading screen). Apparently, the Atmos version has a bug; on the original tape or transfer bug - I still need to check that but so far I think it was on the original Atmos version of the tape. Here's the bug, as shown by Oric Explorer: ...

Sure! Just to make it clear: I'm just a newbie trying to understand, and not willing to say anyone "do this and do that, 'cos I'm too lazy to do it myself" ;)
Else, my developer builds are fresh updated ;).
Thanks! Cheers!

Re: Oricutron and illegal opcode 80

@Symoon: since there is no new binary release in the Github repository , you have to download the sources and compile on your PC. Thanks for the info! BTW, is there any special reason for that? (maybe that making releases is not a very interesting work? Or the original author doesn't have time to? ...

Re: Oricutron and illegal opcode 80

Cool, thanks ! Stupid question but where are we supposed to download Oricutron nowadays? I'm asking because I don't know how to use GIT, and I don't seem to find your updates here: https://github.com/pete-gordon/oricutron Maybe something I don't understand about the way it works. EDIT: OK, I underst...

Re: Oricutron and illegal opcode 80

Opcode $80 is a NOP immediate and use 2 bytes, so the next instruction is $06BF RRA ($06,X) . Oricutron display the right code and mnemonics but the emulation is wrong because it does not skip the byte $8D (immediate argument). I think 6502.c lacks a READ_IMM; line 1951 right before the break; RRA ...
