Re: Searching for Krystal Worlds (edited by OUM)

Are you sure there's no manuals on Oric.org ?
I scanned them, but maybe didn't put them online yet... (can't check from work, oric.org banned)

EDIT: yes, everything is on Oric.org, just just have to scroll down to the "stuff"section (you need to be logged in 1st, though)

Re: Searching for Krystal Worlds (edited by OUM)

The Quill was a program designed to make adventure games. Transfered it but never used it.

Anyway I think Quilled means the game was made with The Quill ;)

EDIT: I thought I had games using The Quill, but apparently not after a 1st quick search.

Re: Translation help

Thanks guys. So did I for the "crystal" case...
What's funny is that, if I understand correctly, there is no specific English word for the 2nd type? As well, as far as I know, there is no dedicated word in French...
Strange no? ;)

Re: Translation help

Cool, thanks :)
Just to be sure in the context I needed this translation, if I describe different packaging versions of the same program, does it make sense to say:
"the 1st version was sold in a tape box, then a 2nd one was later sold with a tape case"?

Translation help

Hi all,

I need your help on a stupid question, but I realise I never really knew that...
How do you call these different types of tape boxes? Is there a "standard" name for each?

Re: OASIS development

I also see the red problem here on the Youtube video. I suspect it's just because of compression. I'm often adding text notes on photos, and noticed that red color has to be avoided, because after Jpeg treatment it becomes very blurry. Don't ask me why, I never tried to understand, and use yellow in...

Re: FT-DOS disk size

Ah, thanks a lot for this! Brillant explanation. So it should be fine, I'll keep trying with other disks...

BTW I tried to test the faulty disk with my Jasmin 2 but it began smoking after 30 seconds of unsuccessful attempts to boot...
I really know why I prefer tapes ;)

FT-DOS disk size

Hi all,
I'm trying to write FT-DOS on a real 3" disk for someone that bought a Jasmin drive, but I keep having write errors after a while.

I noticed the DSK file is 513Kb big. Isn't it too much for a 3" disk?
Or is it just my real disks, or drive, that are getting old?

See there for the latest post describing the modifications: http://forum.defence-force.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1082&p=12487&hilit=wav2taps#p12487 I'd be inspired to do a new relase in the future, changing every tool so they generate 5 synchro bytes at the start of TAP files to prevent any problem w...

Re: Nice Hires screens

Well it seems the most complex Hires screens (thus unefficient compression) take less than 5 seconds to load. If you plan to load small quantites of data, I prefer to rely on the worst case. 8KB in 5 seconds, that's about 1,5KB per second (of useful information, neglecting start / stop bits) (I remo...
