OPEL Software for the Oric

Long ago, Jonathan gave me the OPEL joystick interface, along with two tapes "OPEL Software for the ORIC". The software was: - Joystick Controller. Author unknown. - Image Designer by Anders Kjoller. Also called, on the tape label, "Picture Designer", and on the inlay, "Graphics Designer". - Oric Pa...

Re: John S. Sinclair on Oric.org

No news after the message I left on Oric.org sadly.
But please do send me your questions, just incase. I had written a few ones too, I'd have to find them back, where can they be?

Re: Mused : How it works ?

There are hints in CEO-Mag #30, pages 13-14.
Apparently the 1st version was bugged on the loading... Another version was planned (but released?).

Re: And the CEO ?

Nice work Didier!
Guess I've made a mistake at the end, I'm saying the loading is "sensible" instead of "sensitive"! ("sensitive" is translated into French by... "sensible" ;) )

Re: Orix playing a video on real hardware

That's great because it means one can do a game based on loads of pre-recorded animations or locations, designed on another computer if needed. For instance a kind of Dungeon Master.

Re: Development of Blake's 7 (was OASIS development)

Ah yes, true Lucas games didn't use keys, and you explained the way the characters were moving, so I guess it would have to be a complete new system to code.
Ok, see you in a few months when I ask again for it

Re: Development of Blake's 7 (was OASIS development)

It would be much better to have a proper mouse on the Oric, but that is not a reality yet and probably will never be for most users. Besides that hardware did not exist back then, and I like to stick to supporting only the hardware that was available. Using a joystick does not benefit the gameplay ...

Re: Development of Blake's 7 (was OASIS development)

- Saving/reloading a saved game does not work. It works on the emulator and on real disks, though. I must investigate more, but there is some kind of incompatibility here on the emulation code in the Cumulus. Saving works from within Sedoric, I'm quite sure of that. And IIRC my old saving routine w...

Re: Mysterious program

I'm 5 years late but I found Oricopy , here it is! It seems to work on Oric-1 only. oricopy.tap The story : I had an mp3 in a very old mail, sent un January 2008 by Alan Skirenko - thanks to him years later! I had totally forgotten that, as I sometimes do :? Here's what Mr. Skirenko said about it: "...

Re: Oric Atmos resets after a few seconds ... when not grounded

I compared too ;) TomPhobos' set of ROM have the exact same content than the one Fabrice and Thierry analysed a few years ago!
I suspect the v1.3A is a home-modified one?

Re: Oric Atmos resets after a few seconds ... when not grounded

Long ago, Fabrice had a "DE" ROM, and he said it was exactly the same than then ROM 1.1b except: - Y and Z key exchanged on the keyboard mapping (and on the keyboard!) - 3 chars redefined: shifted [ and ] display ä and ü instead of { and }, and the key - shifted displays ö instead of £. So I guess t...
