Re: Football Manager

...but require some alternate mind set compared to what one would have done on other machines Ain't THAT the truth! :) idea for ShaunB: Skool Footy. 5-a-side set in a playground (jumpers for goalposts etc). Pick your squad from the usual rogues gallery of players (think Bash Street Kids) - tall kid...

Re: Football Manager

Hello all,

It's been a while, so I thought that I'd pop by.

I thought about writing a Footy-type game for the Oric for a bit of fun, but I have a few projects to work through first. Anyway, if I get anything started, I'll be back here for help and advice.

Cheers,

Shaun.

Not only did 1337 get the game-of-the-year accolade from Old School Gaming, it was also my no. 1 for 2010 in Micro Mart (when I looked back on the year that was). It beat of stiff competition from Bob Smith's Virus for the Sinclair ZX81+16K and Jet Set Willy 16K by Jonathan Cauldwell and Matthew Smi...

I'm sure I mentioned it in an issue of Micro Mart a few weeks back, with some screen shots included (two of).

The Oric world seems to have exploded into action just lately. Keep up the good work chaps! It's good also to see quality over quantity.

Shaun.

Shaun Bebbington has just emailed me to tell that 1337 was featured in this week's Micro Mart magazine (I think number 1125, released 23rd September). I am trying to arrange a way to get a copy, and, at least, read his review (I hope the review is not too bad, despite the bugs of the first version)...

I think I solved it, but need further testing. This was a hard one to find. I hope there are not more severe bugs around, so I can release v 1.1 soon. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks to Shaun for the exahustive testing. No problems. Elite is the sort of game that can consume my real life, a...

Hi, there is a very odd bug in the game (v1.02) which seems to be quite random, or at least I can't seem to find the exact conditions that cause it. What's happening is that my cargo bay is increasing in size without me buying a large cargo bay. First, I can store 20T of goods, then 30T and I'm curr...

Hi Chema, Even with these bugs, the game is really enjoyable. This is the classic Elite but with some big pluses to it, maybe Elite++ ;-) I'll hold back on the full review until most of the major bugs are fixed. Thank you for this game, it reminds me of why Elite was so good in the first place, even...

HELP! I got the sloten hi-tech (the hidden cannister from the Asteriod at Rebees) and proceeded to exit to the nearest world to begin my journey back. It says that I haven't followed the instructions, the deal is over and I have failled the mission?!? Can someone tell me how to pass this mission? Do...

1337 is worth buying the relevant hardware for and then working out how to get the binary disk image from the PC to a real Oric-compatible disk, isn't it? Talk about being a bit late for a killer-app ;-)

Well, I managed to reach level 3 then got stuck here for hours and finally stopped playing. Not that I dislike the game or was angry or willing to have easy levels all the way, it's just that IMHO, for unexperienced players of Thrust games, the difficulty becomes very hard very fast, thus a bit dis...

Then I guess the game needs some kind of difficulty level selection. The harder, the more the score multiplier is, so trying to play hard is rewarding with higher scores. Looks doable? I can't believe people are asking this ;-) O-Thrust is seriously the easiest Thrust-variant I've ever played. It t...
