Re: Clock Signal — an Oric emulator for macOS and Linux

Great progress, ThomH! After I copied ROM related files to the proper directories everything work under macOS+Xcode. Attached you can find my updated (actually newly rewritten) rotation speed tester for Oric+DISK][ interface in DSK/NIB/WOZ format. (NIB doesn't work for me in Clock Signal). Now speed...

SedOric-3 and INIT command

This is my recent Oric-toy configuration: mypic.jpg It includes: - Oric Atmos - Original Microdisc controller - Drive A: Gotek floppy emulator with OLED and buzzer mods (I will post more info in separated thread about it). - Drive B: 3-inch double-sided drive, max 42 tracks. Everything works perfect...

Re: TapOric - android TAP player for Oric

TapOric is definitely live, but it's on pause until I decide if it will support CSAVE-ing, which is bit tricky and not always working. :)
Maybe I should just release the CLOAD-only version...

Re: Re-encoding Oricutron captures for Youtube

Thanks for the useful tips!
Additionally if you need to cut your video use options "-ss hh:mm:ss" to set start time and/or "-t hh:mm:ss" to set duration.

Re: Oric Atmos Boot-Up Query

You're not alone! :)
And I think I have one more Atmos with the same issue.
I don't know why this really happens, but it's interesting for investigation.

Re: Reverse engineering the 6522 VIA chip?

IMO, all chips on eBay with sellers from Bulgaria are fine. They are remains after Pravetz 8D production was stopped. I don't see any reason someone to put effort and resources to fake exactly Oric's ULA expecting to sell no more than 2-3 pieces :). EDIT: If needed I can send some pieces "as sacrifi...

Re: Clock Signal — an Oric emulator for macOS and Linux

Thanks for the release, ThomH! I will try it definitely because I'm unable to create usable executable with XCode. Actually everything is compiled without errors/warnings, but when I try to start it I have just blank window. Maybe I have problem with missing ROM images at the right place... Thanks a...

Re: Oricutron for android (POC)

It's possible to be done entirely from Android, but the idea was to decompress on PC and then transfer ter APK to smartphone.

Re: Clock Signal — an Oric emulator for macOS and Linux

Confirmed! The problem is in the ported code.
In my test I used one very good floppy with perfectly tuned 300 rpm (i.e. 200.0 ms period).
I will add code that uses VIA's timer to measure the rotation period too.

Great work, ThomH!

Re: Clock Signal — an Oric emulator for macOS and Linux

Wow, this is great, Thom!
BTW, maybe there is no issue in your code - I ported the code from Apple and it's possible that the time-measuring routine gives wrong result because of clock difference (i.e. 1.000MHz vs 1.025MHz), let me check tonight with real hardware and I'll post the result asap.

Re: Clock Signal — an Oric emulator for macOS and Linux

Thanks for the small but very nice tool dsk2woz! I saw your announce on comp.sys.apple2 too :). It works well but ... back to Clock Signal - is currently Disk][ read-only or something with the write-protection switch is wrong? clk-writeprotect.jpg Attached archive contains DSK, NIB and WOZ images fo...

Re: Paste from clipboard problem

Yep, very bad OCR!
Attached is my version of the fixes (listing + tap).
Actually it the same as Chema's, but I'm posting it because I used exactly the same line number 2557 to add missing DATA - lucky coincidence ... :P
