This is very interesting! Thanks for sharing.

and HERE 13MB zip file containing the same tap file and Quill_(Oric)_Manual.pdf.

Re: Oric Atmos PSU Specs

This is small add-on to PSU which I bought recently and IMO is very handy! There are variants :) for Oric-1: 20170510_190852.jpg ... and for Atmos: 20170510_191028.jpg Actually it's nothing special - just a simple switch but because of laziness I never built it until I found it for $1.10 - of course...

Re: Atmoses, Microdiscs and Telestrats on ebay

ORIC TELESTRAT + Disc drive on eBay again. Who will guess the winning number this time? :).
But more interesting are the 3-inch floppy disks - take a closer look at their labels (in description at bottom of page)....
If only it were true ... CP/M for Oric :mrgreen:

Re: Which EEPROM chip should I get to burn a new ROM?

Yes, everything looks fine. One ROM on socket I think there will be no problem.
Get the MiniPro TL866 CS - it work really well (btw, the CS can be hacked to A model, but this is another story :)).
Don't forget to post the results here.

Re: Which EEPROM chip should I get to burn a new ROM?

If you decide to use AT28C256-15PU (from your eBay link) just as new single ROM (i.e. without using the available space to have more than one ROM) you have to write data in the second half or simply concatenate twice the ROM image and write it to the whole space. Here I mean you are using 16K bytes ...

Re: XA: * manipulations

As described in XA man page : To explicitly declare redefinition of a label, place a - (dash) before it And this code is working for me: .text * = $400 #define pstring(s) -_start=* : .byte _len,s : -_end=* : -_len=_end - _start - 1 pstring("TEST1") pstring("TEST2") The result is: 0x00000000: 05 54 4...

Re: XA: * manipulations

This definition:

Code: Select all

* = $400
#define pstring(s) .byte _end-_start : _start=* : .byte s : _end=*
pstring("TEST")
is assembled as:

Code: Select all

0x00000000: 04 54 45 53 54 -> .TEST
Is this what you are looking for?

Re: xa and o65 format (and CC65)

IMHO, having option '-cc' is the best solution for everyone!
The change in 'xa.c' is minimal and easy: ;)

Code: Select all

	  case 'c':
		/* fmode |= FM_OBJ; */
		fmode |= ((argv[i][2]=='c')? 0x0800 : FM_OBJ);
		break;

Re: xa and o65 format (and CC65)

WOW, this is good, Thanks christian! This will simplify my cc65 based toolchain.
Now I'm using a script file to convert XA syntax to CA65 compatible source.
It works but not all possible cases are handled properly.

Re: system disk message

The game "MÉFIÉS TOI DE MÉPHISTO" is for Telestrat. If emulator runs in Oric-1 or Atmos mode, then "no operating system on disk" message appears. Simply configure the emulator to be Telestrat :)

If you could share somewhere ... I sent an e-mail with sprites and little demo - I took your e-mail address from your last message on comp.sys.oric :). About Ym2Mym - when I have something well working I will post details. Maybe It would be better to create new tool and leave Ym2Mym as is ... will ...

Re: OSDK 1.9

Thanks for the update. I rebuilt my Linux OSDK and everything seams to work fine. I'll check in detail the new FloppyBuilder asap. Recently I collected some ideas for improvements in: - PictConv - when used in char generator mode, to be able get more input files (sprites with different sizes), split...
