Thanks, I've got it.

Well... much more beautiful, a bit less readable.
I will stick with it for now... :)

Apparently not for me... the only download I was able to find gives me two .wav-files...
can I do anything with that...?

I like the uppercase-chars, the lowercase ones I would like to try and see...
but I can't find the game, and on the available screenshots there are a few chars missing.

mordoric.tap V0.3 21.01.2012 http://h3games.de/files/m/03/screen.jpg Store 99% done, Character creation 95% done. Spent much time on content, but not feeling very creative currently... Noticed that sometimes it takes less bytes to just store information uncompressed, wasting a few bits here and the...

What routine did you use (that did not work)? Just curious. I used several different ones. I used the "short version" from this page http://6502.org/source/integers/random/random.html It's also a "a=a*b+c mod d"-type function. I tried several start-seeds, but after 10-20 iterati...

Well, of course it's a bit unfair to compare the size of a function with another one that does NOT work...
Dbug wrote:As a benefit now we also have a 32 bit multiplication routine in the osdk.
Is that routine used by the random generator (so I can have it "for free" now...)?

It works! (and the new osdk too).
Takes 38 bytes more than my old routine, but I don't want to complain

Oh yes, I'm interested! It don't have to be fast. So please post it here (or in another topic),
or "pm" me. Thanks!

And yes, having a nice font would make the game much more appealing.
I think that are (ca.) 512 bytes well spent, so I will keep that (them) in mind.

First weekly Update: mordoric.tap V0.2 14.01.2012 http://h3games.de/files/m/02/screen.jpg Main menu and bank are somehow working. Store is 50% done (but disabled in V0.2). Maybe that screen looks a bit confusing at first... so much information to display. Items can be moved and equipped (not complet...

Ok, thanks. Currently I'm of course more motivated to do other things, but I might come back to you when memory gets shorter... Current status: string, text, textcompression, menu-functions 95% done. Much code, not so much to see. Currently working on items (code and content creation). 50% done (no ...

Yes, that would be a good solution. (Currently I do not even consider an option to load/save the game...)
But I don't know yet anything about how to use the disc (or overlay mem., or even tape).
And I'm not sure if I can find enough information on this website, or elsewhere, but I'll check again...

Looks like a lot like a Hack clone. Yes, I guess you're right. I never played it, but of course it's the mother of all such games. I hope there are not already a dozen Hack-Versions for oric... Looks promising :D thank you! Quite nice. I notice the map I have when playing is the same as on your scr...

Mordoric

mordoric.tap V0.1 07.01.2012 mordoric.tap V0.2 14.01.2012 mordoric.tap V0.3 21.01.2012 The last few months I spent much time (once again...) playing a nice little game called Mordor: The Depths of Dejenol . Its a 16 bit Windows-Prg from 1995, but runs well under XP. If you like dungeon crawlers and...

@barnsey

Well, it has nothing to do with Middle-Earth. Except the name, of course, but that was not my choice...
and it won't have a secret cow level (but very likely a Bovine Plate...)

I'll show you something later this week!

Hm, I'm a bit late, but I wish you all a great new year!

...oh, and by the way, I'm currently working on... something.
But don't get to excited ;) I'm not sure yet if it will ever materialize as a complete, playable game...
