FWIW, OCR is still useful for PDF files even if the OCR'ed text isn't corrected by a human afterwards. This mainly goes for PDF files put online somewhere. Search machines (like Google) will use the OCRed text when they add to their index, and then it is easier to locate such PDF files when you sear...

as Godzil and iss says: it is quite easy to replace a floppy drive with a Raspberry Pi. Replacing a controller + a floppy drive is a different task. I think you will find that the Raspberry Pi have too few I/O lines to do this. And the timing of all the signals involved will be hard to get working.

There seems to be some omissions in the preorder list; I see people stating that they have received their unit, but they are not in the preorder list?
