Re: OType

Balls, I wish we had sources for these things. Just more motivation to crack into the monitor and just read the assembly... listening it seems he also coded parameter-based effects, such as a delay and reverb as well .. I can imagine that the way he does the portamento effects is by shifting the EG ...

Re: OType

I believe the horizontal scroll is done on 6-pixel boundaries, but I could be wrong about that.

And yes, that music is f'in BADASS. I wanna hear it from a real Oric ..

Re: HIRESMAN

Yes, I would second the call for a "Twilighte Archives Project" .. there is so much that he left behind, buried in this forum and in the SVN, as well as all over the Internet .. before things get too dusty, perhaps we should try to preserve it all in a single source, somehow? I'm still finding gems ...

Re: Blake's 7 - French version / Version française

I think it was more to do with the event than anything else .. plus it was my first time trying to play it on a real Oric, and it was a lot more frustrating to move the cursor than I remembered from playing on Oricutron, and that might have coloured things for the other guys who tried to play after ...

Re: HIRESMAN

Thanks Symoon - that is very interesting, and in fact quite topical as it seems Twilighte has implemented a few of the things I'm trying to do with my Oric project .. so as always, so much to learn from the master.

Re: The Graphic Suite

Has anyone ended up doing something with this recently? I'm continuing my effort to understand and become competent with native-Oric tools for doing things like graphics (and sound) editing, and so .. I'm unpacking TGS and reading the docs. Would love to know if anyone else has come very far with us...

Re: Microdisc in ebay

I'm lusting for it. All you other guys can sod off! Its mine, I tell you! :). Even though I have Cumulus drives and a working Cumana-based drive, I still want an original micro disc for my collection. (For me it'd be double useful, since I have an Amstrad now and could use the 3" disc collection for...

Re: Upgrade Time: Encounter

I'm kind of keen on the idea of doing a compositor .. something that takes a smaller image file and blits it over the top of a larger image file - but of course I have no clue how to estimate the effort required to implement this ... just a huge interest in how you'd do it, in BASIC, fulfilling the ...

Re: OType

Definitely, Chema - those colours and the sprites and the scrolling in general just fill me with wonder at what could have been, had we had Twi's genius back in the day, showing the world what the Oric could do... I'm still struck with awe that this is an Oric demo - it just doesn't connect, in my m...

Wow, this is great - and precisely what I need to continue my hacking on my Oric projects .. what a pity I don't have a Windows machine handy to run it though .. time to set up that VM.
