Re: OricExos - making the impossible

What amazes me about this innovation is that it was all do'able in the 80's, too. Just, nobody really seemed to have had the idea to implement as smoothly as iss... Just imagine if we'd had the ability to gang up 4 machines like this, out of the box in 1983 .. I mean, this is some serious alternativ...

Re: Oricutron and illegal opcode 80

Apropos Oricutron builds - I'd be happy to assume package maintainer/release duties for Oricutron on MacOS.

Re: CC65 to DSK

Wow, I love the AIC graphic solution you've come up with .. its brilliant. And .. in a way .. it even looks like gravel is being spit out the back of the car when its on the dirt, or exhaust around the corners or something - and I wonder if you might want to play with that a bit so that its a featur...

Re: OricExos - making the impossible

I second the call to have a special OricExos mode in mainstream Oricutron... this will make it a lot more viable for those of us who want to target OricExos at a later date without having multiple Oric emulators around.

Re: ORIC SDCARD

This is really beautiful. Only thing I wonder is if its going to be possible to somehow mount .DSK images programmatically from the Oric itself, rather than requiring user interaction...

Re: Oric logo and trademark

Not really true. Abandoned trademarks can be re-registered by others after 3 years of demonstrated abandonment. If nobody steps up to defend the re-registration, this is perfectly legal. What this really highlights is we shouldn't assume that someone won't do this to us, if we think our trademarks a...

Re: Telestrat failure?

SCART: oh shit, this may be the issue. I tried using the SCART cable that was in my Atmos, which is the one built by RetroComputing and has been quite reliable in the past. I hope I didn't fry my Telestrat, damnit. (Haven't tried the drive..) But, I will need a few days to return to debugging this, ...

I'm going to try another power supply in the next few days, and I'll follow up - hopefully we can both get our Telestrats back in working order ..

Damnit, I just tested my Telestrat too. And alas, it is also non-functioning.

So consider me following this thread very closely along with you. :(

Re: Oric logo and trademark

>I'm afraid he's far too busy with real life right now.

Then perhaps we ought to have a call to arms in the Oric community to ensure we are safe from these criminals.

Re: Oric logo and trademark

Just one thing: the market for retro computing is expanding - not contracting. Every day more and more people are interested in old computing platforms, and it would be very unwise to ignore the fact that this trademark action is in preparation for a bigger market in the coming months/years. I say t...

Re: Modern Software Packaging

Its amazing how visceral my reaction is to seeing this kinds of things, in the 21st Century. I truly want to possess a mass library of Oric titles that look this good. However, Cumulus precludes me making the effort. ;)

Re: CC65 to DSK

I've always thought it'd be nice to have an SFXR-like interface for Oric sounds. Twilighte wrote that simple "synth one-liner" generator, which was also pretty nifty as it allowed you to just bung some register values into a program and get astonishing results, but I've been unable to find where I s...
